Hair extensions continue to be a popular way to enhance hairstyles. They are great for a variety of applications. Extensions also come in a variety of application styles, from clipin, to bonded, beaded, and taped. With the recent feather hair extension craze, it has never been easier or less expensive to get hair extensions for your hair. Here are a few of my favorite ways to use hair extensions.
Thicker, fuller hair. Hair extensions are one way to get what we don't have: thick, full hair. These extensions must be real human hair so that they can be washed, dried, and carefully heat styled. This type of extension can be clipped in, taped in, fused, or beaded. Beaded extensions are my favorite, as removal is a snap when needed.
Longer hair. Another great reason to get extensions is for longer hair. However, the difference between your natural hair and the extensions may be pretty obvious if you try to add too much length all at once.
Wedding or prom hair. Often times, fancy wedding or prom styles just need more hair. Extensions are the perfect way to get it. I like the beaded extensions best because they are easy to remove after the party, although any kind of extension will work. A contrasting color will help fancy hair styles stand out. Natural or artificial colors are all easily available.
As highlights or lowlights. It's not always practical to get to the salon for highlights and lowlights. A few well-placed extensions can take the place of highlights and lowlights and will last longer. The right kind of highlight can be adjusted as your hair grows so that you don't have to take them out or replace them.
As peekaboos.
I love peekaboos of brightly colored hair. A few panels or a few strands can be a great sight, peeking through your already beautiful hair. The bonus is that hair extensions that are brightly colored will hold their hue better than your natural hair will. You'll get more beauty bang for your buck.As a non-commitment way to try fun colors and styles. Trends come and go, but you don't want to get stuck growing out your hair issues. With extensions, you can try out fun colors and styles without having to worry about maintaining them. Just be sure to choose a type of hair extension that is easily removed if you get tired of the look.
