If you're a follower of fashion, every detail matters - including your eyeshadow. This fall you have more eyeshadow options than boring russet, gold and forest green colors. This year, you have a choice between subtle and bold, bright or demure. Vogue magazine reveals lusty colors like peacock and even shimmering black. Which style is right for you and your fall wardrobe?
Embrace your inner peacock. This bright-eyed look was the star of more than one runway. Makeup artists swirled on bold blue from the lash line to the brow line but also swept the color on the inside corner of the eye too. The bottom right half of the eye got a touch of copper eyeliner and white eyeliner was applied to the eye rim. (White eyeliner makes the eye look open, even when it's covered with dark shadow.) This look would look stunning at an evening dinner party. Not really a daytime one though.
Go triangular. Glamour magazine suggests that the triangular eyeshadow look is the style to try this year-especially for fall. You'd only need two colors, three at the most for this easy look. You'll need taupe and gold colors for this autumn 2012 eyeshadow style. Apply the taupe in an isosceles triangle shape from the inner eye upwards, down at a slant to the smallest point at the outside of the eye. Fill in with color then touch the top right of the under brow with glint of gold. Cap this look off with plenty of mascara and sable brown eyeliner. Luxurious and fall-ish, this is a great evening or daytime look.
Passionate about purple. Usually colors like purple are reserved for summer eyeshadow wear. Not this year! This year's shadows are big and purple according to NARS. Their new trios and quads feature unusual color combinations like maroon, eggplant and jade. They suggest going bold over the entire eyelid but this might be too heavy for the average Jane. Why not use the bold color on the lower lid only and get a wonderful autumn smoky eye?
