1. Take vitamin D. YOU Docs Mehmet C. Oz, M.D., and Michael F. Roizen, M.D., call vitamin D "the ultimate anti-ager." That's because it nourishes your memory, skin, heart, bones, and arteries, and it helps fight off cancer. Here's the best time of day to take your vitamin D.

2. Care for your teeth and gums. A healthy smile looks lovely -- and helps keep your arteries and immune system in top shape. Flossing and brushing daily can prevent periodontal disease and tooth loss, which can make you feel 6.1 years younger.

3. Watch your numbers. Keeping your waist size, blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol in the healthy zone dramatically reduces your risk of many problems, including cardiovascular disease. The combined effect can make your body think it's as much as 19.8 years younger.

4. Keep stress in check.Stress comes in many shapes, sizes, and strengths. Some stress is good, but the bad kind ages you inside and out. Reducing bad stress with meditation or other meditation techniques can help you feel 1.7 years younger.

Use these 12 steps to conquer stress.

5. Stay in touch. Reach out to family and friends through e-mails, phone calls, and, whenever you can, face-to-face visits. Staying connected can make you feel 8.5 years younger.

6. Pump some iron. Working out with weights does your muscles and bones good. Strength-training for just 10 minutes three times per week can make your body think it's 2.6 years younger.

I I did not care for my teeth as I should of. Now, at the age of 66 y.o. I have perioddontal disease and am trying fractically to save my teeth. If you only remember one thing, it's floss and brush every morning and evening. It will definately save you the pain and money later. I sure wish I had listened. This is for real!! I take care of myself, but missed the teeth altogether.

My wife had very good teeth and took good care of them. Only one or two cavities that were fixed.. Until the dentist gave her a deep scour cleaning. In three years she has lost several teeth that just broke off and 75% of the teeth she has are full of cavities at the gum line. I think because they ground the enamel off. I had the same thing done by a different dentist and so far no cavites. But my gums hurt and bled for almost a year. Use caution.

I dig the recommendations ...but how in the hell can you say something "can make you feel # years younger" :-? Did the writer just randomly grab a number and slap it in there?

There was probably billions of dollars spent studying these facts. They probably gave someone some whole grains cereal for a couple of weeks then asked them on a scale of 1 to 10 what type of smiley face they feel.

I agree that eating right and taking vitamins is good for you. But I have a question? Why would anyone want to live to be 100 years old? The last thing I want to be is alive and drooling, craping all over myself and having other people waste precious time in there lives taking care of me!

I have a standing deal with my son. If I am ever in a wheel chair he will lay my 38 in my lap, Wheel me out in the back yard under the apple tree , leave and call the coroner before my wife gets home.
