    Sure, almost $5 for a half pint seems pricey. But it's money well spent on your health: Black raspberries may protect against certain cancers, Seminars in Cancer Biology reports. The berries are also a top source of waist-trimming and blood-sugar-stabilizing fiber, adds Lisa Moskovitz, R.D., of New York City.

    Pay for it: Eat fruit, not fruit smoothies, Moskovitz says. A small Jamba Juice Classic Smoothie costs about the same as berries but has (gulp) 320 more calories.
