Your smile is often the first thing a person notices about you. Think about it, Taylor Lautner, Julia Roberts, and Jessica Alba all have these enchanting, perfect pearly whites. I wouldn't mind having a chat with them. Austin Powers? Not so much. So how can you make sure your smile stays bright throughout your years? Founder of Supersmile, Dr. Irwin Smigel, gave us a few pointers. "You can look younger and live longer by practicing proper dental care, which provides both aesthetic and health benefits," says Dr. Smigel.
In your 20's: Stains from coffee, food, tobacco and red wine among others, are the most common problem in young patients. These surface stains should be treated before they have the chance to sink in. Dr. Smigel suggests polishing them off immediately with a quick stain remover like Supersmile's Quikee.

In your 30's: Your gums may start to become more sensitive or even appear to be receding, which is a sign of aging. Dr. Smigel suggests eating crunchy foods like apples, celery and carrots and rinsing with warm salt water to help strengthen your gums. He also says it's important to brush for at least 2 minutes twice a day and floss the proper way. You should make sure you wrap the floss around each tooth in a "C" shape and gently slide it under the gum line to the tip of the tooth.

In your 40s and up: Gingivitis is a common issue at this age, about 75% of people over 40 have some degree of it. A common sign is blood on your toothbrush, which can be scary but doesn't mean you should slack off on brushing. Dr. Smigel suggests a brush that cleans at the ADA recommended 45-degree angle, gets under the gums and polishes enamel like Supersmile's Advance Sonic Pulse Toothbrush.
