Ok, so due to my choice of going back to school, i've had to take 2 part time jobs after I my full time one laid me off. I'm 30 and have no health insurance and probably won't until 6 months from now. My dilemma is I am running out of my birth control pills. I can't afford the doctors visit to get them renewed without insurance. Even planned parenthood will not prescibe them without a check up, which I have to pay for. I can afford the pills, but not the dr. visit. I had one less than a year ago and everything has been 'normal' for over 5 years now. Now I know I'll get a lot of 'then don't have sex if u don't want kids' speech. Thats not the issue. I can go without sex to avoid pregnancy. The thing is I've been on birth control for 9 years now. Why is it so hard to get birth control without a prescription when you can get viagra-like pills and male enhancements on almost every corner and online? This isn't fair. Why has there not been an OTC pill invented available for 18 and up or something of the like? I'm being told to go to Mexico if I really want them (its only 2 hours away). Is there any way to get them that I don't know about? What are my health risks of being off after being on them for so long? They really help keep my cysts to a minimum, not to mention my periods are quick and painless. Need advice!
