Biggest Loser Club: Burn, baby, burn!

How can you burn off at least 500 calories in half an hour? Ah! You're gonna have to watch this quick video of The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper to find out. (But you'll be glad you did!)

Below are three tips from The Biggest Loser trainers on how to get and stay in shape!

    • It's okay to give into cravings. Losing weight and keeping it off means balance, not going without treats for the rest of your life.
    • Use a food journal to track what triggers overeating--stress, a celebration, or being with certain people. Identifying these trigger situations will help you put a stop to them.
    • If you don't have a measuring cup available, use your fist to figure out correct portions. from chicken to vegetables, just about every portion you'll eat is about the size of your fist.

I agree with Lucy2, everyone is different. My sure you get a check up and listen to your body. A lot of "diet" and "exercise" advice is very general. Men and women respond to exercise differently, if you are taking any medications also has to be a factor. An active person who weighs 150 lbs. is not going to get the same results as a person who weighs 240 lbs. Love and Success...Doll

Spinning has changed my life. I used to walk around the upper deck of the gym watching the class below, listening to the instructor shout out commands wondering why anyone would want to do it...but yet - I yearned to try. So, one day when I was at 298 lbs, I gave it a shot,. It was the toughest 60 minutes of my life (and I didn't even have any resistance on the bike!). A classmate said at the end of class "it's addicting". I laughed and decided to give it one more try the following night. Well, that was 18 months and 90 pounds ago. Now I do 5 days a week and love every minute of my new addiction. It has given me physical and mental strength I never imagined I could have. Thank you YMCA, Matt, Sue, bike #27 & everyone else who helped me morph into who I am today! Remember, if you believe you can't do it - you can't. If you believe you can...you will!

what's the difference between a spin bike and a regular stationary bike?

and yeah, I agree... the way Bob and Jillian abuse those people is just shameful. I can't believe they get away with that, that they think they have a reason to BE that way. No thanks. Keep your money. I'll go find a REAL Trainer, thanks.

Spinning classes are great if you have a good instructor and great music to jam to! Never push yourself so far that you will hurt yourself though, Listen to your body!!
