Love to Bake? Chew Gum to stop eating all the dough! It's such an easy trick that can save you from eating a day's worth of fat and calories.
Just a Bite?
If you're anything like me, you're a sucker for cookie dough. Problem is- that little hunk of raw dough, when cooked is transformed into a huge cookie! Within a few "just a little hunk" bites, you have eaten a half dozen cookies and didn't even know it! And then there is the issue of not having quite enough space on the sheet pan for all of the cookie dough... oh well, may as well just eat it, after all, you don't want it to go to waste. No! Wrong tactic. Wrap that little bit up in plastic wrap and toss it in the fridge for later. There's nothing wrong with baking just 2 cookies on a whim! The way I think of it is this: imagine taking that "just a bite" hunk of dough and affixing it to your thigh or butt. Why? Because that's where it will reside if you allow yourself to eat those unnecessary bites that, really, you won't even fully enjoy. It's so worth it to wait and bite down on those just baked chewy gooey goodness instead.

Gum to the Rescue!
To stop the accidental gorge fest, chew a fab flavored stick of gum while baking. A few suggestions? Extra Dessert Delights Key Lime Pie (obsessed!), Dark Blue Extra (it's been my go-to since high school- love the color!), Xylichew Licorice flavor, Glee Gum Triple Berry. Once the cookies are piping hot and fresh out of the oven, that's when you get to take that first drool-worthy bite!
