Thanksgiving Martini
The holidays are known for forgetting your diet, letting your hair down, and overindulging! Don't let that one-too-many leave you in less than festive spirits tomorrow. Use food to help your liver better break down the alcohol, getting it out of your system faster and without the residual throbbing head. Here are a few tips on how you can have your cocktail, and drink it too.
HERE'S YOUR HANGOVER PREVENTION SHOPPING LIST
ASPARAGUS
Asparagus is something you'll want to get a hold of before throwing back that lost cocktail. Order it with dinner, grill up a few pieces while applying your makeup at home. There is a reason this stuff makes your pee smell! It's flushing toxins out of your body.
HERE'S A RECIPE FOR EASY & DELISH GRILLED ASPARAGUS
ORANGE JUICE
Everybody loves a midnight breakfast when the drunk munchies set it. Skip the bacon and pancakes (sorry!) but keep this one breakfast benefit-Orange Juice. After a night of drinking, before getting in bed gulp down a glass of the stuff. The Vitamin C helps your liver break down alcohol faster and flush it out of your body.
EMERGEN-C
No OJ? Well if you have some EmergenC packets in your pantry, like oranges, they are filled with Vitamin C too. Plus they are filled with nutrients that can help boost your immune system and help keep your body stronger longer.

HONEY AND YOGURT SMOOTHIE
If you're sober enough to work household appliances…make this smoothie before bed:
3 tablespoons of Honey-the fructose speeds up the break down of alcohol in your liver
Equal parts Greek Yogurt and, once again the magic mix-in, Orange Juice.
Greek yogurt will actually give your smoothie that satisfying, thick texture while greatly decreasing the amount of sugar and calories you would get in regular yogurt.
COFFEE
Alcohol causes blood vessels to expand, this is what you experience as a headache. Luckily, everyone favorite morning pick-me-up, coffee, is a vasoconstrictor. This means it helps contract those pulsing blood vessels. Just stick to one cup though,as coffee is a diuretic and if you're hung over, you are dehydrated as it is.
Finish your Night with a different type of Shot… WHEATGRASS
Wheatgrass is a natural detoxifier. It is said to cleanse the body's blood and water, hydrating and energizing the cells. Considered a "life sustaining food," the chlorophyll in wheatgrass helps clear your insides out, naturally deodorizing, enhancing wound healing, maintaining pH balance, healing the intestines, and delivering powerful antioxidants and enzymes to support the body both inside and out. Drink a glass at the end of the night for instant detoxifying and hydration, then again the morning after to further detox and energize.
Cheers and have a Happy day after!
