Eat for your eyes: 3 foods to help you see more clearly

I'm not exactly worried about the signs of age-related macular degeneration yet-after all I'm only in my twenties and AMD doesn't show up until much later in life. But because AMD is the leading cause of blindness in people over age 60 and much of the damage occurs decades earlier (read: now!), I am interested in the research that suggests the nutrients in some foods may help to prevent the development of AMD. (And delay the progression of AMD for those of you whose parents or grandparents are affected.)

Rachel Johnson, Ph.D., R.D., EatingWell's senior nutrition advisor and a professor of nutrition at the University of Vermont, dug into the research for an article in our February issue. Here's what she found:

Thank you for this article. Even though I've been a type 1 diabetic for 21 outta my current 24 years, I have no signs of any eye damage(according to my opthamologist). And I now have a better idea why. I consume on average about 20 to 25 eggs a week. Nice article and good tipz...

You say nothing and try to sell me something; I don't do my searching for this. You advertise Morning Star, vegetarian food;I used to buy them all the time because I am a vegetarian, well almost I would say because I do eat fish 2 or 3 times a week, but I had to stop because they are loaded with sodium. That's the flaw in packaged food, they substitute fat with sugar and sodium and so we have to give them up too. I wish something could be done about this. At home I use herbs and spices...

What are the three kinds of food, good for the eye sight?
Also I do not eat shrimp as most of the ones we get in the store are farm-raised. I eat Alaskan salmon as I know it is not farm-raised like the Atlantic ones.
