How to Lose the Last 10 Pounds for Good!

    by Laurel House

When standing face to face with your naked self in the mirror, do you think "Wow, I look good!" Or no? If you're anything like the majority of women (and many men), the answer is, "um, no." So what are you going to do about it? Apparently what you have been doing isn't doing the job or you wouldn't be reading this. Which is why I have found an 8-week, 10-Pound Slimdown Workout and Food plan*** that will help you drop some serious poundage by Summer… well, that's if you stick with this exercise program.

ExerciseTV fitness trainer Chris Freytag came up with the 10-Pound Slimdown system that includes 5 intense workouts (get them online at ExerciseTV on demand for FREE)**- each with a different body part focus and movement style, plus a food plan. Watch the Slimdown Lower Body on ExerciseTV.

You're no doubt doubting that you actually can drop 10 pounds in 8 weeks, and I get it. But you can. According to Chris, "If you actually workout for 20 min, 5 days a week and WORK at a HIGH intensity, you're active on the other 2 days of the week and try to be more movement-minded all the time (ie: walk more instead of driving), and watch what you eat and follow the 10 lb Slimdown meal guidelines" you will trim down and tone up.

These fitness workouts include combinations of cardiovascular exercise and body sculpting to keep you burning calories maximize results. Because the plan rotates between 5 intense 20-minute sculpting, slimming, and stretching workouts, you won't get bored, you won't have the "I have no time" excuse, and you will constantly be challenging your muscles. The idea, Chris says, is "If you do legs on Monday and they are sore, then work the upper body on Tuesday. By switching muscle groups each day you don't have to miss a day (rule of thumb is that sore muscles need 24-48 hours rest in between strength training sessions)."

The diet plan helps you determine what to choose and what to lose when it comes to what you do and don't eat, plus the skinny on fats, carbs, fiber, protein, and clean eating. It's more than a diet or exercise program. It's a lifestyle lesson that, 8 weeks later and 10 pounds lighter, you will easily be able to get in shape and stick to it long term.

Wait, you're still reading? The clocks ticking… Get up and get slimming now!

Near-Liquid Diets, No Carbs, No sugar etc etc are all ways to lose weight fast but not healthy ways to lose it and keep it off for good. Wanna lose weight (or tone up/slim down)? Eat a balanced and healthy diet everyday, consisting of fruits, veggies, whole grains, dairy, and protien, that ends up being around 10% of your body weight in calories (if you weigh 150, try to eat about 1500 calories per day). You also need to allow yourself to go out to eat or for a drink once in a while (i still drink on weekends- try bud select 55 if you like beer, esp in the warmer weather if your at a cookout or something, they are great and half the calories of any light beer, tastes like budlight with an icecube or two in it, and easy to get used to.) and have a cookie, or a serving of desert, or some potato chips etc... if the urge hits you. Everything in moderation. And you don't need to kill yourself working out.. i walk 4-5 hrs a week and do pilates or kettlenetics for 50mins 3-4 times a week, and in the last nine weeks i have lost 5 inches around my waist (I also don't tend to weigh myself, although 3 weeks ago i had only lost 7 lbs but 3.5 inches on my waist and almost all the fat i had anywhere else) and noticed great muscle tone in my whole body. And doing it this way is healthy- and a lifestyle change that i can stick with forever which will bring great health benefits and the added bonus of a slimmer body.

It's called DENIAL. Numbers too matter; and they are important. We can all "feel" great but if we have excess cholesterol cloggin our arteries or are contantly stressing our bodies, they're going to get diseased.

Wake up. We can't continue to treat our bodies like crap and expect to stay healthy. Take a trip to Europe and compare the Americans to the Europeans. You'll be quite ashamed (if you still have a realistic conscious). The USA has become a country of excessive, no limits, "I deserve it if I want it" fools!

Every one has to ask themselves. Would you want to see yourself naked?

It's a good point to not use a number on a scale for some people, but not always. I teach an exercise/nutrition class now for 10 years, and get a lot of students (many young teen girls) with a lot of belly fat. Even though my class targets every major muscle plus some, and we use weights, and they work hard 3 Xper week these girls/women don't lose weight because they increase what they are eating and choose the wrong foods, and eventually quit because they are choosing processed foods which takes away their energy and makes exercise harder. Once people realize that it's all about what you choose to eat that really trims you down, and this needs be be a lifestyle, not a diet, then they will transform. Exercise helps speed the metabolism, strengthens your heart, and gives you that beautiful scuptured look, but it's your choices in food that makes you lose weight...veggies, legumes, fresh fruit...Belly fat is a medical indication of an unhealthy person.

My friend and i have been working out for the last month and a half. We mostly do cardio. We run a mile on Saturday and go to the Ymca to play ball for an hour. the work out for the day is over two hours. During the week we use the bike in my house at 25 mins. about three days out of the week. We also changed our diet by getting rid of unheathly foods and replacing it with healthly foods such as 100% wheat bread and foods high in fiber. She started at 210 pounds and now is 158 (she is 5'4). I started at 164 and i'm now 153 (im 5'7). Often times I feel tierd and I sleep more. My friend and I use Sunday as a relax day to eat freely and no excercise. We use the scale on a bi weekly schedule just to keep track and make sure we are on the right track and not gaining weight ( water weight)etc. Thus far it is working!!!

Why do people feel the need to crap on Everything? Healthy is healthy. And negativity in any form can be very discouraging to people who need to lose those 10lbs. If you read something that gets you motivated, whether it is your 1st 10 or your last 10,that is a good thing! For me,the free workout is just what I need right now.
      Thank you! Be blessed!

Scam! None of this is free. Every link is trying to sell you videos at full price. That's misleading and dishonest.

Everyone is different. If you are not interested in losing pounds, then why read the article. I also go by how my clothes fit more than how much I actually weigh, but unless you are thin it doesn't hurt to know how to lose a few pounds or keep the weight down!

Wow is right! I dont go by the scale either. I enjoy weight training, and often, when i weigh, I have gained muscle weight. I do not look bulky by any means - it looks athletic and terrific. The muscle adds shape and makes me look and feel healthy. My body fat percentage is what I tend to go by. This tells me if my weight is an unhealthy amount of fat........otherwise who cares about the number on the scale?

The unfortunate thing about the article is it talks about losing the last 10 pounds for good, then it immediately goes into a 8 week program. That's unfortunate and give a bad image of the fitness industry. Losing weight and changing body composition should be a lifestyle change....not an 8 week program. Sure, the suggestions may give you a kick start, but a thorough understanding of diet and the ability to have versatility in a program are things people need to know to make permanent changes. As many of the other posters commented, it shouldn't be about just losing weight. Most people really want to change their body composition but continue to get caught up on a weight goal.

I appreciate your comment Joy. I think your right even though I often look at the scale to feed my confidence. I was a size 4/6 before my babies and am working to get back to that. Not because I think being a 4/6 is the best size to be but its a closet full of clothes for me. The older I get the harder it is to keep those extra pounds off. 10 more to go and I'm there. I am still nursing my son though and am finding loosing inches as well as weight is not easy. I think my body wants to hold onto this extra weight so my body has some reserve to pull from.

Regarding the "eye opening weight loss story" hosted by a TV anchor. Run fast, folks. This is a scam! Thousands of people sent for that "free trial offer" of Acai Berry and Cleanse and their credit cards have been charged for months now with no end in sight. Thousands of complaints have been filed and they're looking for them to press criminal fraud charges. Check this out anywhere at any consumer report place and you'll see it's a fact.
