YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

If this doesn't pump you up, I don't know what will

I was just finishing up my post on how I talked myself into staying positive when I saw myself sliding toward feeling like a fitness failure, when this video (below) scrolled down my news feed on Facebook.

It captures a little girl who is probably four years old or so, chanting to herself in the mirror about all of the things that make her life great and support her in "doing anything good, gooder, better than anyone else!"

Watching this animated, wild-haired, vibrant little girl made me smile. And it also made me think about when it is that we lose that uninhibited excitement about ourselves, when we stop bursting with all of the fantasticness we have.

I probably can't convince you to hop from the potty to the sink and sing to yourself in the mirror today. But what if we all took a moment the next time we're zoning out while flossing our teeth or trying not to notice the cellulite while we put on our clothes to at least think a verse or two of "I like my dad! I like my cousins! I like my hair! I like my haircuts! I can do anything good! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" of our own?

Imagine the collective energy and ego and hilarity. That would be a good, gooder, better day for sure.

I thought it was adorable, but the mom and preschool teacher in me was scared she was going to fall off that sink.
