How to Instantly Feel More Energized

By Nicole Catanese

Wish you could go, go, go but it's always like you're in slo-mo? We get it. These five (easy!) tricks will give you a natural mental and physical boost.

Get More Sleep
"Sleep is essential to weight maintenance as well as looking and feeling your very best daily," says Candice Kumai, former model-turned-chef and NY Times bestselling author of Cook Yourself Sexy, Pretty Delicious, and Clean Green Drinks. "Plus, lack of sleep can make you less productive at work, effect your mood and your health, so be sure to clock around seven to eight hours a night-it really will save you wrinkles and stress and give you more energy all day long."

Drink A Green Juice Every Day
"More nutrients in your body equate to more energy," explains Kumai, who suggests adding spinach, kale and other super greens into your daily routine. "Not to mention, a better pH balance-and balanced alkalinity can also help with energy, too." Daniel Winer, CEO of JuicePresso (a cold-press juicer which helps create about 40 percent more juice than standard juicers) and avid juicer, says he sticks to this simple rule: more veggies, less fruit. "Many fruits are loaded with sugar and you only need a little to make a juice sweeter," he says. "And the longer you juice for, the easier it is to slowly remove fruit and add more vegetables."

Stop Over Dieting
"Depriving yourself is the worst thing you can possibly do-instead eat cleaner, and eat less but get more nutrients," says Kumai. "You'll have more energy throughout the day when you stop reaching for fake sugars, diet sodas and chemical-laden foods."

Dry Body Brushing
"It helps with lymphatic drainage, detoxification, exfoliation, as well as more energy!" says Kumai, who adds that she's always been a fan of the circulation boosting skin treatment. "I love that my body brush helps me have a smooth bum and a healthy complexion, naturally-and it makes me feel more energized, too." Find Your Inner Yogi
The mental benefits of yoga are clear-less stress as well as a calm outlook. But don't underestimate its ability to translate to more energy, too. "My mind, body and butt all seem to be in-synch when I am in a state of yoga-bliss," says Kumai. "Yoga can help to restore, heal and even cure body aches, stress and a down day-my friend and yoga instructor Heidi Kristoffer always says, 'Yoga connects your breath to your movement and when you breathe deeper you stimulate blood flow, circulation and oxygen to the brain, all of which makes you happy!'"
