Jessica Simpson has revealed her little trick for staying on track while exercising...

Do you have a "treadmill show"--or do you watch TV while you're at the gym? Jessica's right: watching TV while running or on an elliptical machine can distract you from watching the numbers tick-tock on your machine, and help keep you from getting bored. It can also cause motion sickness (that's happened to me before!), and I've heard people say things like, "If you can focus on a TV show to follow what's going on, you're not working hard enough." And TVs can apparently even be the source of gym turmoil (like when someone who's forgotten her headphones turns up the TV volume super-high).

I tend not to watch the tube while on the treadmill--mostly due to the aforementioned motion sickness issue, and a general concern of losing concentration and potentially doing something terrible, like falling off the treadmill.

TV-watching at the gym: are you for or against? Do you ever time your workout to catch a certain show?
