Jillian Michaels Leaving Biggest Loser, Ushering in Two New Trainers for Season 11

We don't even know who the winner of Season 10 of Biggest Loser is yet, and already Season 11 is making headlines. As the buzz of Biggest Loser crew members going on strike during the taping of Season 11 has just started to subside, Jillian Michaels, one of the show's hard-nosed trainers, has announced that the eleventh season of the hit show will be her last.

Jillian Michaels has been with the show since its first season, using her loud, tough-as-nails training style to motivate contestants to drop enormous amounts of weight in a matter of weeks and teach them how to incorporate their new healthy habits into their every day lifestyles for long lasting success. It seems now Michaels wants to use her influence and good advice a little closer to home: by starting a family.

"I want to take a year off TV and focus on becoming a mommy and doing more charity work," Michaels tweeted of her decision, which was sparked by working on her solo show, 'Losing It'. "Shooting 'Losing It' also had a big impact on me," she said of show, where she entered families' homes to help parents and children slim down. "Living with kids, I saw firsthand what I was missing."

Many are unsure if the show can make it without her. Michaels, and fellow Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper, are household names, building lucrative fitness empires based on the trust many viewers have built with the pair by watching them change lives week after week, season after season. Hopefully, Michaels' replacements are up for the challenge.

Season 11 of Biggest Loser premiers January 4, 2011 and will be Michaels' last season with the show, which is currently filming. Her replacements will be announced in a premiere-episode twist that is unprecedented on the show. Season 11 is another season of couples teams, comprised of mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, friends, siblings, and spouses from all walks of life. The 22 contestants making up 11 teams featuring identical twin police officers, an Olympic gold medalist, an opera singer and a pastor all battling obesity and the emotional issues under the surface. One thing is for sure, Michaels won't take it easy on any of the contestants this season, and they'll have the weight loss to prove it.
