The Duchess of Cambridge may have made headlines for her fashionable tartan outfit on Christmas Day (and all year long for her en-vogue style choices, for that matter), but it’s her husband, Prince William, who was really on trend at the close of 2013. While the Duke was walking from Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate to church with the rest of the royal family, he surprised 12-year-old Madison Lambe by posing for a selfie with her. "I couldn't believe it when William came over to me and I asked for a picture. He just said to me 'you can't beat a good selfie on Christmas Day' and took the picture,” Madison said, according to the Telegraph.
Prince William isn’t the first royal to snap a selfie with a British subject. His father, Prince Charles, was visiting the Coptic Orthodox Church Centre last month when a young boy in the congregation managed to get the heir to the throne in a perfectly poised cell phone photo.
What better way to close out the 'Year of the Selfie' than with a royal snap of approval?
