    Sun-Care Secrets from Celebrities

We talked to a few sexy celebs and got the dish on bad behaviors they left behind and the sun-care brands they love now.

    Kristin Davis
"I grew up in South Carolina, where we sunbathed all summer long. So I've done a lot of damage to my skin in the past, which makes me appreciate a great sunscreen now. I always have my Ahava SPF 50 sunscreen with me, which protects me from UVA and UVB rays. I love it!"
    -Kristin Davis, spokesperson for Ahava

    What does SPF really mean?

    Tichina Arnold

"I was one of those women who believed 'black don't crack'...until I fell asleep in the sun and got a sunburn. I took an aloe vera plant and cut it open and put it all over my body. Now I wear sunscreen every day, even if it's hazy."
    -Tichina Arnold

    Dark skin isn't cancer-proof.

    Kim Raver
"During summer break from college, I would lie out all day with baby oil on my skin and compete with my friends about who could get darkest! But now I know that skin cancer is a serious health concern. I personally love that Olay has so many products with SPF; it's great to be able to multitask in the morning and apply a product that not only moisturizes but also protects your skin."
-Kim Raver, spokesperson for Olay Skin Cancer Takes Friends, which encourages you and a friend to go together for a free skin-cancer screening. Find more information at skincancertakesfriends.com.

    How dangerous are tanning beds?

    Rachel Bilson
"When I was a teenager, I got sun poisoning on my lip from sitting on a boat unprotected. It was not one of my best moments. Ever since then I've been really careful. If I want natural-looking color, I use Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer. My tanning days are over, and my glowing days are in."
-Rachel Bilson, spokesperson for Jergens' Glow in the Dark campaign, which donates $1 to the Skin Cancer Foundation for every pledge made to "tan" without the sun, at jergens.com.

Can you spot the signs of skin cancer?

    Natascha McElhone
"As a teenager in the U.K., I used to lie out on the roof with olive oil slathered over my body so I'd sizzle! I never lie out without a high protection factor anymore. I just took my sons skiing, and we all used Neutrogena's daily moisturizer, which has SPF 45 so it does both jobs at once - and none of us got chapped or burnt!"
    -Natascha McElhone, Neutrogena Brand Ambassador

Get an anti-aging plan that will give you decades of great skin.

    Julia Ormond
"I was a tomboy growing up in England, climbing trees, building dams, playing with the boys. I never wore sunscreen - we didn't know about all that back then. I still love being in nature, and that means lots of sun and lots of sunscreen. I even use it on my hair to keep it conditioned."
    -Julia Ormond

    Fake a summer tan safely.
