TIME Magazine's Top 10 Commonly Broken New Years Resolutions

Hey Ya'll,

If you're like most everyone I know, then you'll make at least one if not more of the Top 10 most common New Years Resolutions, only to break them within the first month. I'm guilty of this trend too! It seems like every year I resolve to loose weight, eat healthier, and make this year the best year ever… so today, I'm sharing TIME Magazine's "Top 10 Most Commonly Broken New Years Resolutions" .

PROMISES, PROMISES…

1. Lose Weight and Get Fit
I do this every year and I live on the eternal roller coaster of my up and down weight! So here's my resolution replacement: Spend more time cultivating the friendships that I want to build, but time has limited me to do so. I resolve to finally make the plans to have lunch with the people that I've been trying to get together with for years.

2. Quit Smoking
I have never smoked a single cigarette, so I get to remove this from my list. Resolution replacement: Get Organized. I want to get my life in order… get all the repairs to my house finally done, finish landscaping my front yard, figure out how to use the 3rd bedroom as an actual bedroom rather than a closet, and just get my life synced up.

3. Learn Something New
I always want to learn something new, but then I get so busy with the things that I already know, that I tend to put off the exploration of something new when I can find time! I'll have to work on this one.

4. Eat Healthier and Diet
Since I lost 45 pounds on Weight Watchers my senior year of High School, I have been on the eternal diet, it never ends and I will always see myself as a chubby person…I would like this one to stick this year.

5. Get Out of Debt and Save Money
I am actually pretty good with this one, I don't have any debt other than car payments and mortgage, so I get to replace this one as well! Resolution replacement: Allow myself to be HAPPY! This is hard for a perfectionist like me to feel, but I plan to really work on it.

6. Spend More Time with Family
I know that 2012 is a big family year for us, with a number of trips planned or in the works, my cousins wedding, the family reunion and my BIG 40 birthday, so I look forward to being with all of my family!

7. Travel to New Places
I really would like to take a cool and exciting trip somewhere this year….suggestions?

8. Be Less Stressed
This is one that I wish would come true, but I tend to thrive on stress, but I know that it is tuning my hair gray… I am going to work on this!

9. Volunteer
I volunteer as much as I can, The California Lifecycle Ride and Camp Rainbow Gold, but I would like to find something else to really become passionate about.

10. Drink Less
I am not much of a drinker and never really have been, but put a cake in front of me, and I can eat the entire thing… so I guess my replacement is to eat less sweets!

So tell me, how many of these resolutions do you have on your list, how many have you had on your list in the past, and are there any new resolutions that you have made this year that did not make the list?
