After reading about Katie's new gym commitment and Super A's amazing weight loss, I started to realize that I can't make excuses for myself any longer. I have had some health issues and felt fatigued, but not doing any sort of exercise is making me feel terrible about myself and probably making my energy level even lower.
I can't afford a gym membership (especially when you include the cost of child care). I don't have a lot of free time, so I need something that is quick and effective.
I heard about 30 Day Shred from a friend. Basically, it's 20 minutes of intense cardio, strength training, and abs. There are three different levels, so you start with level one and work your way up. I was able to get the DVD at Target for $10, so it was in my price range.
I decided to start blogging about this as a means of motivating myself and hopefully, getting some others to join me. The more people involved the more likely I will be to stick with it.
Here's a brief summary of my first two days.
Day One:
I started up the DVD. It seemed challenging, but fun. Jillian didn't scream at me the way she does at the contestants on the Biggest Loser. She encouraged me to keep going. She explained that I have to give my all for these 20 minutes, if I want to see the results.
Day Two:
I woke up this morning and I could barely walk. My calves, legs, arms, everything HURTS. I really don't want to put on the DVD. I forced myself to do it and halfway through, I wanted to cry. I found Jillian to still be encouraging and she keeps saying that by day five I will notice a difference. Will I make it to day five? I hope so!
Does anyone want to join me? Is anyone else starting some other type of workout and want to share their struggles?
