Why lemur semen is the hot new health product in 2009

The above video documents an experience I had with a new health product. If you, like me, sometimes question all the crazy things people do in the name of health, I invite you to watch.

Following are three lessons I've learned the hard (and hairy) way when it comes to attaining a true and lasting health:

    1. Clarify Your Relationship with Money

I believe one of the great lessons that will arise from the darkness of 2009 is that money is not the end-all-be-all we once thought it to be. There's something more important than money. Freedom. Freedom to relax. Freedom to laugh. Freedom to live without worrying about always needing to be productive. Henrik Ibsen said, "Money may buy the husk of things, but not the kernel. It brings you food but not appetite, medicine but not health, acquaintances but not friends, servants but not faithfulness..."

    2. Embrace the Power of Touch

Often in Western culture, we have a strange relationship with touch. I was recently reading A NATURAL HISTORY OF THE SENSES. The author describes how a baby in the womb is surrounded by touch via the vibrations of the mother's voice, the warmth of the amniotic fluid, the soothing, rocking motions of the womb. After birth, the baby is often separated from the mother spending vast amounts of time in the car seat, stroller, or crib. Our strange relationship with touch continues as we get older. So many people, myself included, go long periods of time without loving touch. If lack of touch is not bad for your body, it's gotta be bad for your soul. So give more hugs, hold more hands, treat yourself to a massage every now and again.

    3. Fake Smile

Let's be honest. When someone tells to you smile, sometimes you wanna tell them to shove it. But Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh has one of the all time great quotes: "Sometimes joy is the source of your smile. But sometimes a smile is the source of your joy." In other words, fake it til you make it (:

:) Big fan of the preemptive smile, and physical closeness. I've always heard we need approximately six hugs a day. Always keep a budget and I understand money is simply a tool. I liked the funny video, but I think you could have laid off the blue-green algae. It really is amazing. ;)
      Good tips!
