The changing temperature whispers the advent of cooler months. Fall is upon us and with it, transitioning our closets to more comfortable choices becomes necessary. Soon, pants and jeans replace our skirts and dresses. However, looking at the new crop of pants that have emerged for fall, I'm excited. Designers have put their best foot forward and brought forth a collection that is super comfortable and extremely trendy and chic.
Colorful cords
The soft texture of corduroy remains a personal favorite for fall and winter. At times, the stretchable fabric is often a cooler replacement to rigid jeans. For fall 2012, an array of stylish cords are available to woo your closet. The corduroy pants of today have taken a fashionable detour from its plain tailoring and frumpy fit. Chic ankle-length cords in prints and bold colors are the perfect choice in the coming months.
For instance, style this super slim and skinny printed cord with a denim shirt for a fresh twist on your weekend wear. Or, pair this stunning colored cord with neutrals to stay fashionably on-trend. Ballet flats and smoking slippers complement the ankle-length of the pants and is great for the everyday fashionista.
Printed pants
When it comes to trends, prints are the rage. From the conservatively-stylish to the boldly-dramatic, prints rule the fashion scene. Check out the "pants exclusive" lookbook from the popular retailer, H&M. The lookbook bowls you over with a collection that is budgeted, fashion-forward and chic. This pair of printed slim-fit pants can be worn with a white chunky sweater and ankle boots for a casual setting. However, for a more formal look, try wearing it with a white knitted top and a menswear-inspired cropped blazer featuring metallic buttons and dropped shoulders.
Shimmery pants
Adding a bit of sparkle to your wardrobe just got easier this fall. Metallic shimmer is no longer limited to evening wear and is becoming prevalent in your everyday clothes. From sporting a brocade dress to carrying a sparkly animal-printed handbag, shimmer makes dressing up fun. The trend has made its way to pants and you'll find several shiny options in your department store.
Ladies can use the trend as a pretext and add some shine to their work wear. This is the time to ditch your blacks and beiges and incorporate some glitter. Check out how this fashionista balances the look by wearing it with a white knitted top. A fitted jacket adds a more formal touch.
