Inexpensive fall and Halloween-inspired date ideas

With Halloween and chilly weather fast approaching, there's going to be plenty of fall and Halloween-inspired events cropping up everywhere until October 31. These places are perfect to visit with a date, especially if you typically get a bit freaked by scary places and want to cuddle up close. The crisp, cool air also does wonders for getting a bit closer to a guy you're interested in. With all of the possible fall and Halloween-inspired date ideas, which ones can help you and your date get just a bit closer?

    Have a horror movie marathon

Rather than go out, you and your date can stay in, rent a bunch of horror movies, order some take out and curl up on the couch for the evening. It's a great excuse to get close to him, especially if you have a tendency to get a bit scared at horror movies.

    Try on Halloween costumes together

Even if you aren't spending the holiday together, the two of you can at least help each other pick out Halloween costumes. Goof off and try on things you would never wear while you're finding your actual costume. If you're a bit nervous about the date or you get the sense that he is, it's the perfect way to break the ice and relax a bit.

    Go for a hike

I'm convinced that going for a hike through the fall foliage is one of the best parts of the season. There's nothing like the bright colors, the crunch of leaves and the crisp air to make you feel completely rejuvenated. Grab your date and head out for a hike and take advantage of the beautiful scenery before winter comes around.

    Go pumpkin and apple picking

Many farms offer apple and pumpkin picking in the same location, so if you have a good chunk of time to spend, make a day of it! They usually also sell apple cider and freshly made doughnuts, both of which add to the perfection of the day.

    Carve your own pumpkins

Whether you get your pumpkins from a patch or a grocery store, plan a fun date where the two of you carve your pumpkins. For those who aren't exactly skilled with the knife, there are stencils you could use to help you along. The two of you could also whip some treats up in the kitchen with the remnants of the pumpkins you carve.

Go on a tour of a reportedly haunted location

There are plenty of reportedly haunted locations all around the United States, from haunted prisons to creepy old mansions. Chances are there's a place near you to check out and if you get a little freaked out, at least you have your guy's arm to hang on to.

    Visit a haunted Halloween attraction

Visiting a haunted Halloween attraction is yet another instance where you can grab your dates arm if you get a little scared. I do recommend, however, that you check out the reviews online before making plans to go. Some Halloween attractions are horribly cheesy, last only a few minutes for a lot of money and aren't worth your time.

    Do a corn maze

Doing a corn maze with your date can actually tell you a lot about him. It's like the first time you get lost with a guy while you're driving somewhere together. If he flips out and goes into a rage - which I've seen happen - you may want to reconsider getting involved with him. But, if he handles things in a relatively calm manner, even if he gets a bit annoyed, then he's earned some brownie points. Going on a date to a corn maze is also the perfect opportunity to see how well the two of you can work together to get out of it.

With so many fall and Halloween-inspired dates, there are plenty of chances to get to know one - or a few - guys even better. These types of outings are much more exciting than the standard dinner and drinks date and he'll appreciate that you came up with something different.
