"I feel boring. I feel like, why is everything so easy for me? I can't wait for something crazy to f***ing happen to me. Just life . I want someone to f*** me over! Do you know what I mean?"
This sentiment might be a bit shocking had the sentiment not come from actress Kristen Stewart. Noted for some of her "unconventional" views of Hollywood life, the "Twilight" star hasn't exactly minced words in the past. And it doesn't appear that she's stopping any time soon. However, as we let her words sink in, something begins to resonate. Is the young actress really onto something?
"You can learn so much from bad things."
Most people don't exactly wish for bad things to happen just so that they can learn a few vital life lessons. But Stewart's admission that you can glean quite a bit from unfortunate experiences certainly holds merit. The majority of us will never know what it's like to have a car, driver, or even airplane at our disposal. Many will never know what it's like to earn an 8-figure salary doing a job in which you have to pretend to love the man you're already in love with in real life. Yeah, Kristen's had some pretty decent breaks. And therein lies her point.
At her young age, she's yet to experience some of the "common" ups and downs that many her age have already faced. Get a grip and stop complaining, you are probably thinking. But the reality is that a "fortunate" one's perception of the world and the problems they endure are as legitimate to them as the proverbial "layperson's." We get it: life and romance under the limelight has its challenges. Other celebs lament the same circumstances of being rich and famous. Is this perhaps one of the reasons why so many Hollywood couples disintegrate in such a short time?
So what's Kristen really saying?
Is Kristen longing to be mistreated by her hunky "Twilight" co-star, Robert Pattinson? It's unlikely. But the notion that a person needs mistakes in order to learn is one not many are willing to address. Some might say that she's got plenty of time to make tons of life-altering mistakes. Others agree that she should count her blessings and be quiet. Maybe the key to her Pre-Quarter Century Life Crisis lies in the admission that she "feels boring." Despite her success as the world's most popular vampire bride, she's yet to make the kind of stir in her personal life that feels really profound. Does she really want to get f***ed over? Considering that this quirky quote came from the oft-sullen Kristen Stewart, that's kind of hard to tell. But if she's looking for trouble to help her discover the meaning of life, there's plenty to be had in Hollywood.
