Newlywed television personality Mario Lopez talks family, career and fitness, and also gets some insight from a famous couple who's been there and done that- The Estefans.
Mario Lopez: One on One with Gloria and Emilio Estefan"It feels great to be married!" says television host Mario Lopez, who spoke with Shine Latina days after his grand wedding in Mexico. The former Saved by the Bell actor has reason to be excited; besides marrying longtime girlfriend, Courtney Mazza, and raising two year old daughter, Gia, Lopez is busy with his own show on NUVOtv called Mario Lopez: One On One.
Lopez, who has already interviewed fellow Latin stars like Eva Longoria and George Lopez for his program, sits down with music pioneers Gloria and Emilio Estefan in an upcoming episode to discuss marriage, careers and family. "If I could have the success of this couple, I'll be happy," says the host, who was glad to get some marriage advice during the interview.
EXCLUSIVE: Find out the secret behind the Estefans' 34 year marriage:
For Lopez, who took his vows on December 1st, keeping a multicultural home with his Italian-American wife and daughter is important for maintaining strong family ties, but comes naturally., "It's who I am," says Lopez, whose parents immigrated from Sinaloa, Mexico, settling in Chula Vista- a close-knit Mexican community in southern California where the Extra host grew up. From his usual mariscos (seafood Mexican-style) to the sounds of mariachi music, Lopez's favorite things show a predilection for the Hispanic culture he was raised in and wishes to share with his already bilingual daughter. "Just this morning [Gia] called me saying 'Daddy aquí (here)'," says the proud father. As for Gia's mami, she's already getting immersed into the culture as well. "My wife and I are taking salsa lessons."

Perhaps the dancing lessons are an extension of Lopez' dedication to fitness; the anchor is known for his developed six-pack and is an avid exercise enthusiast focusing on boxing and running. But, when it comes to a diet, Lopez wrote the book…literally. In "Extra Lean", the Latino aims to help readers lose 14 lbs. in 14 days by following the nutritional guidelines that keep him fit. "It's about how to make a lifestyle, not a diet," says Lopez, who continuously strives to keep his busy life in balance.
Mario Lopez: One-On-One featuring The Estefans airs on December 6th at 9pm ET/6pm PT on NUVOtv, and you can catch every second of Lopez' nuptials when it airs on Saturday, December 8th at 8:00 pm on TLC.
