    Guatemala's traditional drink keeps the family warm at Christmas and New Year.
    Ingredients

    4 quarts water
    2 fresh pineapples, peeled and cubed
    4 oz. raisins
    4 oz. plums, coarsely chopped
    2 lbs. red apples, peeled and cubed
    1 papaya, peeled and cubed
    2 lbs. sugar
    1 cinnamon stick, plus more for serving

    Directions
    Pour the water in a pot and boil. Continue boiling while adding the chopped fruit, the cinnamon stick and sugar. Lower the heat to medium, and let it cook for an hour. Remove it from the heat, and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Serve in mugs while still hot, and stir with a cinnamon stick. less
