Why choose airbrush?Airbrushing creates a perfect makeup finish
The number one question I am asked as a makeup artist is "how do I find the right foundation color for my skin?" This is a tricky subject as all skin colors are unique, and it's hard to find the exact shade that's right for you. This is especially difficult for Latinas with olive complexions trying to find the right tonality in a sea of alabaster and ivory. What makes airbrush foundation an excellent choice, beyond giving your makeup a flawless finish, is the fact that you can mix different foundation colors to get the precise match for your skin. The airbrush system I chose is from Dinair, and I couldn't be happier with it. With Dinair you get to choose your foundation shade from a range of options, plus they offer blush, bronzer, eyeshadow shades, and even a face and body tanner, that can be airbrushed as well.
Watch my video tutorial for step-by-step instructions on how to use airbrush makeup:
Airbrush makeup covers discolorations, redness, hyper-pigmentation or any blemish that you might have on your face in less time than traditional foundations. You won't ever have to deal with cleaning dirty brushes that trap bacteria that gets transferred to your face. Airbrush makeup is smudge-resistant and dries immediately upon application. It lasts the entire day, or until you decide to take it off. The Dinair foundations work great with any skin type--from oily to dry, this water based foundation has got you covered!
How to use airbrush
What is great about the Dinair system is that it's incredibly easy to set up and start using. You simply plug in the adapter to an outlet, and then connect the cable to the compressor. Then, connect one end of the included hose to the port on the side of the compressor and the other end to the bottom of the airbrush gun. Once everything is connected, turn the compressor on to "12 o'clock", and pop a few drops of your foundation shade into the cup on top of the airbrush gun. From there, slightly pull back on the lever, and apply the foundation in circle motions at about five inches away from your face. There is always air coming out of the gun when turned on, however, no foundation comes out until you push back on the lever.

It takes about 2-3 minutes to finish applying the foundation to your entire face, and I believe it's much faster than applying foundation normally. You can also apply blush, bronzer, highlighter, and more using this airbrush system (Dinair has a wide selection to choose from). The system also includes a Citrus Airbrush Cleaner which cleans the airbrush gun in minutes. What I also thought was super helpful about Dinair is that when you purchase any of their kits, they include a free Skype lesson so you can learn one on one with a makeup artist how to use the kit.
There's a reason brides almost exclusively ask for airbrush on their wedding day. Yet, looking flawless doesn't have to be just for special occasions. I was skeptical at first, since I never used airbrush before. But after learning how to use the kit and seeing the results, I'm now convinced that airbrush is the way to go. I definitely have some problem areas on my face that I feel especially self-conscious about, and airbrush makeup has been the only way I'm able to get an absolutely flawless complexion. I even tried it out on a hot and humid day, and the foundation lasted all day without even needing to refresh it with compact powder. If you ever take the plunge and switch to airbrush, you won't be disappointed!
