Lipstick can really enhance your lips and make them look totally kissable. But it is really a bummer when your lipstick fades just an hour after you put it on. It gets quite annoying having to reapply your lipstick over and over, especially if you are busy. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to make your lipstick last longer. All it takes is a few simple tools and techniques to make your lipstick last for hours.
Prime your lips beforehand
Just like your skin and eyelids, it is important to prime your lips before putting on lipstick. Doing so will not just make your lipstick last longer; it will also help you get a smoother application. Make sure to let the primer dry for a couple of minutes before applying lipstick.
Line your lips
Lining your lips with lip liner is a great way to make your lipstick last longer. Apply a lip liner shade that matches the color of your lipstick all over your lips. You will be amazed at how much longer your lipstick will last when you have lip liner on.
Choose a matte lipstick
It is best to go with a matte lipstick when you are looking for longevity. A matte lipstick is more dry, so it will be able to grab the surface of your lips better. Also try going with a red or fuchsia shade because these colors tend to leave a stain on your lips.
Set your lipstick with translucent powder
Translucent powder does more than set your foundation; it also does a great job at setting your lipstick. After you have applied your lipstick, dust a little bit of translucent powder over your lips. Dusting translucent powder on your lips will give the lipstick a dry base to stick to.
If you follow these tips, your lipstick will last throughout the day. You won't have to worry about reapplying it every half hour like you did before.
