10 Celebrity Ex-Couples We Still Miss a Little

I don't know whether the recent rumors that Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling are dating again have even a shred of truth behind them, but I know I kind of want them to be true. If you don't tearfully envision him saying, "It wasn't over. It still isn't over!" and then grabbing her for a rain-soaked kiss IRL, then you have a cold, cold heart, my friend.

Here are nine other couples a tiny part of us can't help but feel nostalgic about in their glory days (even though we love their current significant others too and mean no disrespect to their happy relationships!)

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears
Anyone who grew up in the '90s/early 2000s is still secretly a little brokenhearted that this teenage dream didn't work out. However, we can all agree to be mildly pacified if Jessica Biel and Justin agree to appear on the red carpet only in matching denim for the rest of their lives together.

Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow
If it weren't for Angelina and the brood of adorable children, I'd want to bring back this couple for the sole purpose of revisiting their gloriously chic matching blond bobs and to see Brad contribute to Goop.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck
Imma let you finish, other celeb couple monikers, but Bennifer Version 1.0 was the best portmanteau name of all time. They basically invented the concept. Yes, they were majorly over-the-top and responsible for a terrible movie and a dark period in the Chronicled History of Affleck Facial Hair, but still. You loved reading about them, and you know it.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette
Anna was surprised when it was announced that David was expecting a baby with his girlfriend, because she was still holding out hope that he'd get back together with Courteney. I wasn't holding out hope, because I honestly am shocked every time I remember that they aren't actually together anymore. I always forget!

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett
All the laughter in the world temporarily died the day these two funny folks split and broke my heart.

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn
I can't really explain my enduring love for either this couple or their largely criticized movie The Breakup, but it persists and it won't be ignored, no matter how much she rocks the matching leather jackets with Justin Theroux.

Heidi Klum and Seal
While she continues to go strong with the tradition without him, nothing can top the Heidi and Seal Years o' Halloween costumes.

Penn Badgley and Blake Lively
I love her low-key style with Ryan Reynolds, but it's always a little bittersweet to think of the once real-life Gossip Girl couple, even though their on-screen relationship got weirdly borderline incestuous when they were step-siblings.

Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder
Fine, this relationship is probably older than some of our readers. But hey, the look of early '90s grunge already made a comeback, so maybe the era's poster couple should do the same? I'm just saying, it would be the ultimate in reunion romance if he got that Winona Forever tattoo put back on.

Ah, sweet memories. Sigh.

Honorable mention: Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush. I'm so shamelessly Team Kimye 4 LYFE I couldn't bring myself to include them in the top 10, but I still find this ex-couple's old GQ photo shoot to be retina-burning hot and I would have liked to see more like it.
