Emma Stone is adorable. Only everyone with eyes and a heart thinks so.By Nikki Metzgar for HowAboutWe
When conversation gets slow, there are those same topics that people turn to time and again. While talk of the weather may work at the office with a much older colleague who loves Dancing with the Stars, it's not going to count as scintillating on a first date. So after you've covered "How's your job?" and "Do you have any siblings?" here are a few go-to, universal truths that should have you thinking, "We have so much in common!" by the end of the night.
Bill Murray is great. Seriously, just name any movie.
New York City…exists. It doesn't really matter where you live, NYC is on every American's radar in some way. For someone in their 20s, it's a place your date has lived or wants to live or lives in now and obviously loves. Or she hates it or has tons of friends who live there. It doesn't really matter what your opinion is about it, everybody has one. Find a way to bring it up and you'll probably end up hearing about your date's future plans and priorities, which could prove useful.
How extremely difficult it is to stuff a duvet back into a duvet cover. Try not to mention how it discourages you from ever washing your sheets, but work in the word bed as much as possible.
How annoying it is that you have to watch commercials before movie previews on YouTube. Movie previews are commercials! If you are as infuriated by this as me then yes, we can date.
Emma Stone is adorable. Only everyone with eyes and a heart thinks so. If you're a guy, you could go ahead and compare your female date to her and win mega points.
Rainy weather is perfect for watching TV from under a blanket. Maybe if this date goes well, you and I can do exactly this while watching the Wire?
