1. The Long-Distance Dinner Date

In a long-distance relationship? Go on dates together anyway-with the help of Skype! As long as you both have a webcam, you can still do dinner and a movie. Here's how: Start up a conversation on Skype. Then, with your Skype conversation open, cook the same tasty recipe in each of your own kitchens, crack open two of the same bottle of wine, and cue up the same movie on Netflix. Eat, drink, watch, talk, and laugh together, even if you're on opposite sides of the globe!

2. The Treasure-Hunting Date

Go geocaching! It's great fun, and all you need to do it is Internet access and a GPS-enabled device (ah, the wonders of the smartphone!). But wait, I hear you say: What the heck is geocaching? Easy: It's a scavenger hunt. A real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game, geocaching involves participants navigating to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempting to find the geocache-usually a small container-hidden at that location. Inside the container, you'll usually find a number of items left by the people who found it before you. They could be anything from a lucky penny to one of those plastic spider rings you get out of grocery store vending machines. If you take an item, be sure to leave one of equal value in its place. There's also often a list of the people who have found it and a small pencil so you can add your own name to the list. Head over to Geocaching.com to get started and find the coordinates for a geocache or two near you-then head out with your honey and tell us what you find!

3. The Stargazing Date

Head to a hilltop at night and stargaze, no telescope required. Take along your smartphone or tablet and a program like the Star Walk app, ($2.99, iTunes Store) and you've got everything you need for a romantic evening under the stars. Boot up Sky Walk and point it at the sky, and you and your date can get starry-eyed mapping out the constellations, tracking moving satellites, and even look at skies from nights both past and future.

4. The Photographic Date

Explore your neighborhood in a way you never have before-through pictures. Team up with your date and spend a day wandering into all those little nooks and crannies you've never thought to look twice at before. Take as many pictures as you can while you're at it (hello, Instagram!), and from as many unusual angles as possible: High, low, upside down, anything goes! Then compile your photos into a photo book and have fun applying different filters and effects to them. Don't forget to take one of the two of you together! Check out these creative couple photos for inspiration.

5. The Scary Movie Date (Revisited)

You know how horror movies make great dates because you end up clutching each other like your lives depend on it? Mix it up and try scaring yourselves silly with a videogame instead. Dim the lights, turn up the volume, and break out the scariest game you can think of: Alan Wake, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and Eternal Darkness are all great picks. Switch who's in control of your character when one of you gets too scared. Boo! (Did we scare you?)

Happy dating!
