5 Women's Fashion Mistakes That Turn Me Off

Are there any styles that turn me off immediately? You bet. I'd to give you a guy's point of view on style, and how mistakes can ruin any chance of attraction:

    http://www.bocadoinferno.com/romepeige/artigos/palhacos.htmlhttp://www.bocadoinferno.com/romepeige/artigos/palhacos.html

    1. Too Much Makeup

The most striking turnoff for me is when a girl

is wearing too much makeup. I've always been the type of guy who appreciates a natural look as it is, and when a girl does her makeup well, the results can be magical. But the one thing that should never happen is excessive application: too much, too many colors, or if it's just a botched attempt at a good makeup technique. Keep in mind, I'm really scared of clowns!

Seems like as time goes by, makeup makes like the earth and erodes

and changes with weathering. There is nothing more ghastly than

makeup run amuck in the morning after spending the night together.

    2. Aggressive Cleavage

Sure, I admit that guys have fixation with cleavage, but we don't always like when it's popping out of a top. We have a tough enough time keeping our eyes level, and excessive cleavage just provides another challenge. Plus, cleavage is most effective when there's a little hint of it, and then we are left to imagine what else is there. Sadly, most of my friends and I agree that once we've seen the boobs, the mystery is gone. The tiny amount of cleavage that led up to that is what really what we found intriguing.

Another problem with excessive cleavage is that it takes the focus off of the things about you that matter: your face, what you actually have to say, etc. If a girl is running around with too much cleavage hanging out, we'll assume that she's trying to make up for a weakness in some other part of herself-and that she really is craving attention.

    3. Sluttiness

Class is a very attractive trait in a woman, and skirts thatare too short, or slutty stilettos, etc, will chip away at a girl's class.

If I see a girl who is dressed slutty, I'm immediately struck with intimidation-the same kind I get around strippers. I'll also worry about who else she has slept with-and you know I always fear STD. Slutty apparel will also make it look like a woman is not much of a challenge, and we all like a challenge.

    Jackie Ohttp://www.history.navy.mil/danfs/l1/lafayette-ii.htm4. Obvious Celebrity Emulation

When a girl goes out and gets the same haircut as her favorite celebrity, and even dresses like that celebrity on top of this, it is obvious. "Oh that girl thinksshe's Katie Holmes." Suddenly, all of the focus is off of hearing what this girl has to say, and it spotlights on the fact that she thinks she's a particular celeb. It's also a little psycho to just cop someone else's style and look.

However, if a girl can take a celebrity's style and spin her own take onto it, it can be really attractive and intriguing. It just can't be a straight copy. I love those winter jackets girls wear sometimes that look like the ones that Jackie O. wore. Just a little Jackie O. flare is fine-you don't have to try to be her!

    5. Gaudiness

I know it's nice to have some bling, and giant rocks,etc...but it will really make me think I can't afford you. I also don't get when a girl goes out on Saturday afternoon in jeans and a t-shirt, lugging a gigantic Fendi python bag. Is that really necessary? One time a bunch of us went to Preakness-a horse race in Baltimore where we all turn sub-human and drink on a racetrack infield. This girl I had quite a crush on came with us and wore pearls-not normal Preakness attire. I don't remember the timeI spent with her that day other than the fact that she was wearing pearls in this heck zone that we were in. Just a bit over the top.

Basically, a successful look will have a guy say:

"wow that girl has great style," and leave it at that. You don't want anything to be so distracting that people are fixated on it. It should all just complement your natural looks and gifts. But, I've said it before-we do notice these things, so all of that effort and time is not being wasted. Sometimes, it's the least effort that makes the best impression too!

So now it's your turn. What are your pet peeves for guy's fashion? Is it true that sandals on guys is unappealing? Do you agree with the mistakes I mentioned, and do you have any others for women?

I see where you're coming from, and I agree. I enjoyed seeing all this from a guy's point of view. It was very interesting.
By the way, I keep everything classy because I don't ever want to be the kind of girl who inspires a guy to write this kind of story!!!
And as far as guys and sandals go, they're acceptable if the occasion is right, and if you take exceptional care when grooming your feet.

I cant stand a man with dirty nail beds, or nails, cleaned or not, please cut them its nasty. I think shoes tell you alot about a man as well as his nail grooming does, so thats why i start from the feet first and work my way up. If your shoes are worn, beat up, stank and if they belong to someone else i dont need to look any further. Men you have said alot without saying a word. The one that kills me is a man that has on a suit that doesnt fit. Go get it altered DAMN IT!!! Men, stop wearing more than 2 rings on one hand, an if you have 2 rings on one hand you dont need any on the other hand you are not Mr T!!!!

A real big turn off for me is too much gel in your hair...it makes you guys look bald!!

And I can't stand it when guys leave too many buttons undone on their shirts. The 70s are over!

When a guy wears dated jeans ,beat up under wear and t-shirts. Does not groom their facial hair. Wears chains or tacky rings. Some guys think cheap cologne takes the place of taking a shower and makes them hot!Gross. Lets face it some men can be pigs.

Sandles on a guy? No no no. Brand flip-flops with some nice jeans and a polo might be okay on -SOME- guys. But gross feet are a turn-off. Long hair grosses me out. My boyfriend is always trimmed : ) & lookin' fresh. Dirt under the nails can be sick. I prefer boxer briefs. I dont like a guy dirty but I dont want him to be a total pig. Us girls tend to like to slack it sometimes and stay in our pj's all day then take a warm bath at night. If a man isn't willing to live with that, and he's way to prissy then see-yah! P**** a** guys just dont do it for me.

I agree with your list too. And I agree with the sandals on men thing. It makes y'all look lazy.

One thing that bothers me is when I see a guy walking down the street in a white beeter with basketball shorts on with a pair of white socks pulled up to his needs thinking he is dwayne wade or something give me a break dude.

I agree with you on less is better. As for things that turns me off:
....A guy who does not take care of him self....please workout
....Your teeth....sorry but I will not have a conversation with you
....Sweats are for the gym not for going out....tacky, tacky, tacky
....If you're broke stay home, it's not funny
....You already have a mama, and I'm not her
    • Naila  •  3 years 4 months ago
      -comb overs
      -dirty finger nails
      -dirty elbows
-when guys pluck/shape their eyebrows... eek
      -when guys wear skinny jeans
-goes without saying, when guys wear make-up... A-N-Y make-up

"You already have a mama, and I'm not her"
LMAO! THAT'S Beautiful! I LOVE it.
Great article, I love it too, it's spot on.
I hate too much make-up the most. Most women look better with a lot less of it on.
As for men, I'd have to say shorts and a hawaiian shirt with sandals, worn everywhere to everything is NOT acceptable.
      XOxo~D

I definitely wonder why men have such disgusting toenails? Also, ditto on the hair growing out of ears, nose, eyebrows, genitalia, back, etc. Trimmers are cheap, use them! Unibrows are totally unacceptable. I hate it when men sit back and critique how women should be 'this and that' when they haven't done a damned thing with themselves. I swear, some men are unreal at how women should appear all the time. What a joke...men are the ones who complain about not getting a date, laid, or no attention. It's not women who should be busting their asses to be attractive, it's the men!
I do like Rich's comments about 'less is more' and starts to give a little insight on what men like, even though society tries to instigate women to appear trampy in order to snag the men. More often then not, guys want their women to appear classy or decently dressed in public, and save the slut action for the bedroom. ;)

You are so on cue! The woman of your dreams is on her way to you.

This would be a good article to print out for young women at church. We are constantly having to stress modesty with them. But you do know where young women get the idea from, that they have to show their bodies to get a boyfriend--right?
    • tlnu  •  3 years 4 months ago
I hate it when women are referred to as girls. I am not a girl, I'm a woman. If you're over 18 and want a girl, you're a pedophile!

I actually love Hawaiian shirts on 4 specific types of men.

      Tom Sellick
      Jack Nicholson
      Mickey Rourke(sp)
      Don Johnson
      Antonio Banderas(sp)

If your not even close to the status of those guys then stay away from the Miami Vice look. If you have the money and the boat, then you can look like you own the island. Goodnight gilligans.hehe.-Rachel.

Oh and as far as men go... BRUSH and FLOSS your teeth! I've been on a few dates where the guy was cute but had some junk/food/gunk in his teeth or had sour breath. Nothing turns me off so fast.

Also... white sneakers/tennis shoes are a NO, big baggy holy jeans are a NO, and blonde highlights... EW.
    • Missy M  •  3 years 4 months ago
Oh yeah, stick a brown papr bag on a womans face and lay her down with legs spread eagle and you'll find shes very attractive.

I don't know why, but I hate guys in sandles. Big turn off. But I love wearing sandles myself. Do guys hate them on women????
