Best First Wedding Dance: The Time of Their Lives

Everybody else, just go put away your shoes, because last weekend a Michigan couple, Dominique Morisseau and Jimmy Keys, performed the wedding dance to end all wedding dances.

Posted on YouTube on Monday by their bridesmaid, Bree Glenn, the eight-minute, 45-second video is well worth watching through to the end. It starts out sweet and slow with the newlywed couple getting their groove on at the Museum of African American History in downtown Detroit. The bride looks gorgeous in a seventies-inspired spaghetti-strap chiffon gown and radiates joy and love. Her handsome groom shows off a few moves as he leads her across the floor in a fairly traditional first dance.

But, at just under two minute mark, things start to heat up. The rest of the video is an exhilarating medley of love songs and dance styles. From "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" (lift included, with a little help from an adorable flower girl) to "In the Mood" to Heavy D & The Boyz's "Somebody For Me," the couple wows their gathered family and friends. If their marriage is as fun and romantic as this dance, the pair is set to have many beautiful decades to come.

As Glenn wrote when she posted the video, "And, for all of you who are getting married soon…THIS IS HOW YOU DO A FIRST DANCE!"
