If you're unable to check your work problems at the door when you get home each day, you're not alone. Researchers at Baylor University's Hanmaker School of Business recently learned that employees who have really crappy bosses are more likely to have strained romantic relationships.

But here's the good news: It's not actually your boss that directly affects your relationship with your boyfriend or husband; it's stress caused by your boss. How is that good news? Well, unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do about a truly horrible boss (besides quitting, and that's not savvy unless you already have something lined up), but there is a lot you can do to combat stress. We rounded up expert-backed moves that don't take much energy or time and can help you keep cool both at your nine-to-five and after you punch out.

-It's tempting to put off the most annoying/anxiety-inducing tasks until the end of the day, but experts recommend scheduling those to-dos for early in the morning. Otherwise, you spend all day worrying about them.

-Take a coffee break with friends or coworkers rather than going solo. One study found that getting a caffeine fix in a group lowered stress levels while sipping coffee alone left people feeling more stressed. Plus, if you take a break with other people, you'll be forced to think about whatever they're talking about rather than stewing over your bad manager. (What we're saying is don't take a break with coworkers then use the time to bitch about your boss. That venting may make you feel better short-term, but it's not going to do anything to improve your stress levels...or your relationship with your guy.)

-Kiss. A lot. Psychologists found that even just a little bit of physical contact with your boyfriend or husband is enough to lower your blood pressure and make you feel calmer.
