Dear Whys Guy: "What Is My Guy Really Eating When I'm Not at Home?"

    By Aaron Traister, REDBOOK

    DEAR WHYS GUY:

What does he really eat for dinner when I'm not at home? Because he says he's "stuffed," but the leftover chicken stir-fry hasn't been touched. - Sara, NY

    DEAR SARA:

When you're out, he eats the raunchiest, butteriest, fried-est meat and/or cheese product available to him. If he ever smoked in his life, there's a good chance he has a cigarette after the meal too. And there is definitely beer involved. When wives leave for the night, husbands get to have a culinary affair with the edible equivalent of a scarlet woman. In fact, I get so excited that I'm not eating "heart healthy" for a change (I'm looking at you, vegan lasagna) that things can get downright weird.

Once when Karel was out of town, after I put the kids to bed, I ordered Buffalo chicken fingers from one place and an extra-cheese pizza with sausage and onions from another. The next thing I knew, I was slapping Buffalo strips on the pizza. It was nasty-and I liked it. Then I hid all the evidence. With the pizza box safely recycled in my neighbor's bin and the chicken and blue cheese containers shoved to the bottom of the trash can, Karel had no clue about my night of passion with a side of fries. So sometimes it's better not to ask-I mean, do you really want to know that your man got freaky with a BBQ sandwich called the "Fat Dude"?
