    Engagement Shoots Inspired by Movies

If you're planning an engagement shoot, you probably want to set a romantic mood, and what better way than with a theme from a movie? From the sexy Notebook and Atonement shoots to the too-cute Up-inspired shoot to the sweet Alice in Wonderland one to the girly Breakfast at Tiffany's one, you can go all out with the theme or just use it as a guide. I love how dead-on The Notebook-inspired one was, but to see the rest, check out our gallery.

If you had an engagement shoot inspired by a movie, which one would it be and why?

Okay.... can we narcissistic much?! I'm embarrassed for these people. Seriously, people spend WAY more time on these kinds of superficial things than they do on the marriages themselves. Hence our divorce rate.

the one who needs meds... why do you have to rain on everyone's parade? what does it affect you how much people spend on their weddings? personally when it comes to my wedding, i am splurging on one thing - PHOTOGRAPHY! no one will remember how your cake tastes, or what your hair style was in 25 years, but the photographs will remind you forever of that day. its so worth it to spend the money on beautiful photography. maybe i'm biased because i am a photographer, but i think people who half ass it on photography only regret it. these photos are gorgeous! the notebook ones are my favorite, that polkadot dress is amazing!

I agree with Ali, we didnt have a photographer at all for our wedding, that is my biggest regret! The only photos I have are ones that family took....not very good. One day we are going to take some pictures together like the ones shown here.

As I enjoy sitting and looking at these photos, I can't help but wonder, why anybody would get "engagement" photos. I never understood the need for extravagance when it comes to marriage. It's just a party why buy a thousand (plus) dollar dress just to have it mussed by getting cake all over it. What is the purpose of celebrating an engagement?

Some of these are beautiful and spot on for their inspiration. That said...my very favorite movie of all times Breakfast at Tiffanies was very poorly represented!!!! For shame, if you are a big enough fan to want something as important or memoriable as engagement photos to be inspired by such a classic then more accurrate representation is called for.

If you were a crafty person something like this wouldnt be expensive. My cousin is a photographer (maybe you know someone that it) and im sure we could find things to use as props around the house or at a thrift store. Its all about stepping outside of the box and using your resources :)

I love it! I wish we had done something like that for our engagement photos... it would have been so much more fun... and we wouldn't have looked like a couple of missionaries sending a newsletter... *lol*... Oh well, maybe this is something we will do in the future for fun...
