How much is love worth? $267,000 to be exact

A UK study has determined the monetary value of different phrases by polling 1,000 British citizens about events crucial to their happiness and comparing that to the joy bestowed upon recent lottery winners. Perhaps it's not the most scientific of studies, but we were intrigued by the results.

    • "Going on holiday" is worth $151,735
    • "Making love" is worth $173,990
    • "Being in a stable relationship" is worth $256,063
    • "I love you" is worth $267,000

So much for love being priceless. Is having someone tell you they love you worth $267,000? Would you rather just have the cash? Is the idea of putting a price on a phrase a joke? Weigh in below and feel free to make up your own prices below. [Jezebel]

I agree with simfelicity.I mean yeah you can buy whatever you want like a fancy house..or clothes or something..but what happens when it runs out?HMM? you'll end up loosing the house, your clothes will get ragged..yeah.. Think about it people. Love is better. at least if you are poor or something you can share it with someone and be happy with someone.

Love does not make the world go around, money does. Love just makes the spin a little better.

See, that's the problem with people. They want to attach MONEY on everything. Not that this surprises me. Between men and women talking about their divorces, men are usually the ones who complain about how much it cost *them* (nevermind what it might have done emotionally to their ex).

Doktor Eevol: Yeah, men do complain about how much it cost them because the fricken lawyers battle with each other to try to get the wife (whether she deserves it or not) the MOST of everything which was initially THEIRS together. That to me is messed up!! A divorce is between two people which to me is 50/50. Unless you have kids, everything should be divided up equally. A man should not have to support his wife unless she is unable to work. The kids should get fair child support payments. I am sick and tired of seeing men (not the men who cheated or did other terrible things) get raked through the coals because some witch thinks she DESERVES it all.

Anyhow, back to the topic. If you marry for love, you will be a LOT happier than if you marry for money because all the material things in the world cannot compare to the value of someone's heart.

I'll take the the words I'm in love with you.I learn money and material things can't make a person happy I use to think that.Being in love and staying with that special person is worth it.I would want to share it with the person I love.Besides that amount of money isn't nothing I can make more than that.

anyone who doesn't take the dough is a stupid moronic idiot. Since most elationship strain over finacil issues. it would be wise for one to take the money and find a new lover even if they got to buy one with their newly aquired cash. I wish all couples luck love and success.
