Here is the most insignificant news you will read all day: Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries have reached a divorce settlement.
On Friday, the same day as a terrorist manhunt has parts of the country on lockdown, Kardashian continues to conquer headlines with her personal relationships. Some things never change.Humphries and his now ex-wife settled their divorce, only about a million years after the pair wed for reality TV cameras. The agreement was signed by both parties and handed into L.A. court, according to E! News. Humphries was not present, choosing to remain in New Jersey.
Before he granted the divorce, Judge Hank Goldberg asked Kardashian, "Is there any way your marriage could be saved?"
"No your Honor," she responded, also confirming that she had entered into the agreement freely.
An eyewitness told E! News that Kardashian appeared to be “in a good mood” as she was escorted through the court. An official judgment still has to be entered into the court and the marriage will officially end when the judge signs off on it. The expected end date is June 19, about a month or so before the pregnant star’s estimated due date.
As of Friday, Kardashian’s Twitter feed was silent but on Thursday night, Humphries tweeted, “Couldn’t be happier!”
For a marriage that lasted 72 days, it’s been a long divorce battle—536 days! Thankfully this national nightmare is over and we can all return our focus to Kimye.
