Jennifer's father, Walter, tragically passed away almost two years ago from a heart attack, and she knew nobody else could properly walk her down the aisle for her wedding.

"She thought about her mom or a good friend or an uncle but she thought nobody was going to take the place of her dad and it'd be a sad moment for everyone," Jennifer's now-husband, Patrick Sullivan, told ABC News.

But someone who could provide a little joy and humor for her trip down the aisle was Sebastian the Ibis, UM's school mascot. Since Jennifer and Patrick met at the university's law school, Sebastian (who wore a special jersey with "Big Walt" stitched on the back in honor of Jennifer's college-football playing father) escorted her down the aisle to Bruno Mars's "Marry You" on March 15 in Coral Gables, Florida.

"It's fitting with her personality in the sense that she's a huge college football fan and is a die-hard Miami Hurricanes fan," Patrick said. "The people who really know her were like, 'Yep, that makes sense.'"
