For what seems like forever, women have mostly been attracted to men who are older than they are. Whether this phenomenon is due to the fact that women generally mature more quickly than men or that there seems to be some sort of security dating a man who's your senior, it has been happening for a long time. The term often used for this type of man is a Silver Fox. Just as with the female version of this scenario, the Cougar, there are some rules that you should stand by when dating a guy who is older than you are.

Stay Current
No need to mention things that happened in the past that may highlight your age gap. Avoid the "I was 10 when you graduated college" remarks. This tack may say to your man that you are insecure about the age difference even if you didn't mean it that way.
Stay Away From the Kid Role
Let's make one thing extremely clear: He is not and neverwill never be your dad. At this point in your life you should be independent and you shouldn't be looking for someone to take care of you so make sure he knows that. The same thing goes for him. Make sure that he knows you want to be treated as his equal and not someone who can be controlled. You should pack your things and leave if he can't seem to understand that.
Discuss Life Goals
Make sure that your goals are the same. If you want kids with him and he is done with that phase of his life and doesn't want the same things it will never work. If you want a long term relationship that should also be his goal and you should both be working towards that together.
Be Yourself
Chances are he was initially attracted to you because of who you are so no need to change that now. If you are constantly trying to live up to his expectations or change who you are to be with him, it will never work out.
Don't Be Afraid To Grow Up
We all need to mature and grow in any relationship and this should be no different. There are definitely going to be times when he has already been through some life experiences that you need to or want to have and he needs to understand that. As long as there is communication and understanding by both parties involved you should be just fine.
