While attending an event without his wife, Ryan said she had signed off on his outfit (the summery coral tie and blue shirt above), and in fact went so far as to say, "I would never walk out of the house without her approval."
Now of course, I'm sure he's exaggerating and doesn't literally mean never, but it seems he lets his fashion-friendly lady help with his style for public appearances, at least. Which cracks me up because although my mom didn't become a fashion icon through Gossip Girl, that's exactly what my dad does too. I can't count how many times I have seen her lay out a full outfit on the bed or heard my dad on the phone with her saying, "What am I supposed to wear to this thing?"

I thought it was just an old people thing (no offense, Mom and Dad!), but I guess not. Maybe it's an old-people AND a famous-people thing? Maybe it's a fashion-challenged-dude thing, although Ryan kind of seems like he'd be kind of stylish to me. Or maybe you guys do it too. Let's discuss.
