Summer Lovin': How To Make A Seasonal Fling Last

Dating guru Carly Spindel tells us how to keep our current fling in the picture past the summer season.

10 Signs Your Relationship Is Over

Sometimes summer flings are meant to be fleeting, but other times, those casual summer romances have the potential to become serious. If this is the case and you really like your current guy, follow these steps to turn him into your boyfriend before the season's over.

    1. Reveal Yourself
Don't hide who you are. Be yourself. He's going to find out eventually, and if you pretend to be someone you're not, you're just wasting everyone's time. If you like the guy, give him a chance to see the real you. Hopefully he'll like it.

    2. Become A Friend Magnet
If you want your fling to turn into a relationship, your guy's friends have to approve. Men aren't like women where their friends' opinions mean everything to them; they don't sit on the phone for hours asking their friends what they think of their latest girl. But, if your guy's friends like you, that's a huge plus. Men are more simple minded and want to date someone who their friends get along with. So, stop wasting time and start making friends with his friends.

    3. Try A New Activity
It's rumored that couples who play together, stay together. I certainly believe it. If you want your relationship to last, you have to do things besides just going out for dinner. Taking up an activity will allow you to connect outside the bedroom. Besides, you might just find a new hobby.

    4. Talk His Ear Off
Well, not literally, but you do have to talk to him. He may be under the impression that you're okay with a casual fling, so if you want things to get serious soon, tell him. Remember, men aren't mind readers and women don't walk around with a sign on their foreheads that tell people how they feel. If you don't tell him what you want out of the relationship, he isn't going to know.

    5. Sex It Up
You can never have enough sex, especially when you're in a relationship. One way to make sure that your man is happy is to be intimate with him as much as possible. Whenever, wherever, make sure that you're doing it. Besides the fact that sex is so fun, it will also make you a stronger couple. There's no excuse not to be getting busy all the time.

    6. Communicate
Communication is so important in a relationship. If you can't communicate, your relationship is doomed. You have to be able to have an interesting conversation about anything, including the weather. If you and your man both know how to listen, you're off to a good start.

    7. Don't Suffocate Him
Just because you're afraid that your fling might be over soon, don't start suffocating your man by calling him every waking second. Your relationship shouldn't consume your life. You should still spend time with your friends, see your family, and live your life without your man. Don't forget that everyone needs alone time.

Okay ladies, now that you know how to turn your fling into the real thing, perhaps it's time to change things up. If you want things to get serious, you're going to have to take the initiative. Don't be afraid to tell your man how you really feel. Being honest feels good. Happy dating!

Some of the advice are ok. If he's ready and into you then
that's great. But if your fling does not want to get serious, nothing you can do about it. You'll just end up getting hurt. Just move on, live your life and hope that you'll end up with somebody who deserves
and return all the effort you put in the relationship.

This is how a fling goes.

Married man meets single lady, or vice versa, or even WOman in unhappy relationship with a few men, meets this one guy to add to her collection or vice versa, she is looking for a way out, or vice versa.

      #6 Communicate:
Either you're in a casual relationship or your not. If you're hoping that your ... fling... will become something more and he's having a fling you're destined to get yourself hurt. If you're not feeling so casual or hoping for something more, get out. Men who say they want a fling only want a fling and playing manipulative little games by ingratiating yourself with his friends will fail.

That being said, never in my adult life have I had a "fling." The time I put into a relationship has the intention of leading to family and commitment. When either of us realize that it won't, we have the responsibility to tell the other person and end it.

Why would you want to get serious with a fling?

You get thses SHINE post about silly stuff and its all hypocritical!!!!

A fling is a fling!!! Its not meant to last!!! Its for the summer or what ever else season!

Flings are in betweens!!!!! Whether youre in town for a few weeks because of business, or just meeting family, flings are usually just for a hot minute, anything else over that minute is history!!!

Sex it up? What a great idea! Let's go, baby, go go go!!!

"Children living with their married biological parents universally had the lowest rate of maltreatment, whereas those living with a single parent who had a cohabiting partner in the household had the highest rate in all maltreatment categories. Using the Harm Standard criteria, compared to children living with married biological parents, those whose single parent had a live-in partner had more than 8 times the rate of maltreatment overall, over 10 times the rate of abuse, and nearly 6 times the rate of neglect."

Meeting the friends also more firmly cements you in his life. If you disappear, his friends will notice and ask him about it. It's weak insurance, but it's insurance.

I can't believe that a dating GURU will teach others how to keep a summer fling. It's people like these that contribute to the high divorce rate in the country.
