No bitter breakup here! Last week Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift officially split and an insider tells BettyConfidential that they have already easily transitioned into a friendship. Our source in Nashville reveals that the two young stars never got too hot and heavy during their short relationship, which has made it easier for them to remain friends.

"Taylor Swift may only be 20 years old, but she is a business woman already. She and Taylor got along great on the set of their movie Valentine's Day and she thought the buzz about the two Taylors dating was cute," the insider says. "He was a total gentleman and very sweet so they gave it a shot, but their busy careers were always in the way. She enjoyed hanging out with him and will continue to stay in touch and hang out when they are in the same cities."
The country singer did invite the 17-year-old Twilight star to visit Nashville and meet her friends while she showed him a few of her favorite local spots. "It's difficult being young and super successful under the spotlight and she feels like they can help each other as friends to stay strong and positive," the source says. "Their friendship will only get stronger now that they are not dating."
The thing that they had in common - that they are not party animals - will help to keep their bond alive. "Taylor is not a wild child. She's smart and surprisingly wise to the business already and she will help guide Taylor as a friend. They can still rely on each other as a support system."
