My friends and I were recently joking about how long it takes to get that relationship "itch." Traditionally, people talk about the seven-year-itch. My friend said that she gets restless in relationships after seven months. My other friend gives guys a year and a half: She has dated three guys seriously but broke up with all of them after eighteen months, almost to the day! (How do you console a friend who just got dumped?)
When do you find you get a relationship "itch"? And new research tells us the official length of the honeymoon period...
Scientists have figured out that the typical honeymoon period lasts exactly: two years, six months and 25 days into a marriage.
Is that longer or shorter than you would have expected? And tell me: When do you usually get restless in relationships? Are you still in the honeymoon period with your man, or are those days long gone? How do you keep up those giddy feelings in relationships?
P.S. Randomly: Remember a while ago when we all said Meredith from Grey's Anatomy is getting kind of annoying? Well, Entertainment Weekly seconds that!
