Though my finger is always on the beauty pulse, a bad first date story gets me equally excited. (Maybe it's because I no longer have to go through the torture myself...). Anyway, I was recently forwarded an email chain, which included an email from a guy who went on a first date. The girl-who thought the first date was "horrific"-hadn't responded to the guy's texts or calls following the date (um, take a hint, dude). So he decided to whip up a 1,604 word email (no exaggeration), discussing his "disappointment" regarding her decision to not respond to his texts/calls after their date. Here's my favorite snippet from his email:

"You played with your hair a lot. A woman playing with her hair is a common sign of flirtation. You can even do a Google search on it. When a woman plays with her hair, she is preening. I've never had a date where a woman played with her hair as much as you did. In addition, it didn't look like you were playing with your hair out of nervousness."
Well, snap. The guy is obviously a little off but, regardless, the email cracked me up and got me thinking about the subject of hair twirling. Celebrities like Kristen Stewart, Kim Kardashian, and Beyoncé are all known for their signature hair moves. So are most of my co-workers-who confess to twirling out of anxiety-not flirtation.

So fess up: Do you play with your hair? And why?
And remember, if you do, the next time you're on a date you might want to think twice...
