Who's Calling Ciara a Bridezilla? (Actually, She Is!)

After nine years of Bridezillas (and countless years of untelevised bridal nightmares before that) we've learned how to spot a wedding planning-related meltdown from a mile away. From narrowing down a bridal shower guest list to coordinating when to send out save-the-date cards and invitations, the planning process is ripe with pressure points.

Even though bride-to-be Ciara got engaged to rapper-producer Future just two weeks ago, she's already in the thick of deciding various wedding details-and she knows Bridezilla-dom is in her future.

"I think I'll be part Bridezilla, I'm not going to lie," she told People at the People's Choice Awards nominations announcement last week. "But I want to be a happy one! I still want it to be a fun process, but I want the dress to be perfect, I want the cake to be perfect, I want the food to be perfect."

If her crystal-clear vision sounds strikingly similar to that of newlywed and Bravolebrity NeNe Leakes, it's no coincidence: Ciara admits to watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta and Glee star's broadcast wedding for inspiration.

"I watched NeNe's wedding and that was the funniest," she said. "I watch any wedding show...and start thinking about how I want to plan things. I'm looking at it with a whole new perspective like, 'How do I want to do this?' And 'Who are going to be my bridesmaids?'"

One thing Ciara won't have to worry about? Fighting with her future husband over the venue choice or centerpiece design. The R&B's singer's fiancé is fully willing to hand over the wedding-planning reigns!

"He gets to have his say and then he lets me go off and do my thing," Ciara said. "I know he's going to want the fun part to be right. We're both looking forward to it."

The singer added that she expects their engagement to be brief, which only amplifies the Bridezilla pressure. Adding even more stress, the bash will be an intricately-coordinated, two-part affair. "It's going to be two parts," she said. "We're both from Atlanta and we have so many family and friends...it's going to be hard to get everybody in one place, so we're going to do a celebration part and a wedding."

Ciara even described the wedding dress she plans to wear with her 15-carat engagement ring. She is "definitely" planning to wear a form-fitting gown, but does want to "go a little vintage, a little throwback classic almost like my mom was walking down the aisle," she said.

If you don't want to (or can't) wear your mother's wedding dress, choosing a gown that emulates her style is a great idea! It sounds like we can expect to see a lot of family involvement and over-the-top details at Ciara and Future's wedding. We just hope she remains as candid with the process as they move closer to their big day!
