Why it Might Be a Bad Sign If Your Guy Texts You a Lot

Communication in a relationship is good, but you and your boyfriend might not always be on the same page about how to do it, or how much talk is too much.

Especially when it comes to texting. According to new research, while 82 percent of young adults say they text their significant other multiple times a day, that's not always good news for a relationship.

First (and this seems almost as obvious as the whole "men like to look at boobs" thing), quality communication is more important than quantity, meaning those who sent loving messages had higher satisfaction. But the amount of texts could be a problem: Men who reported texting more often also reported lower relationship quality. Women, on the other hand, reported more satisfaction when they also reported texting often and were more likely to use texts to apologize and make decisions.

If communicating via text is comfortable for you and feels important to you, you don't need to give it up altogether. But it's important to make sure you're both on the same page about how you're communicating and whether or not it's effective for you as a couple.
