10 best beauty timesavers to get you pretty in a flash

We'll make this quick: you're time starved, and you're looking for ways to get out the door looking pretty and polished that take a hot minute. Or you're just really, really lazy. Either way, we feel you. Here are 10 timesavers to get you gorgeous so you can save more minutes for living a beautiful life.

    1. Tinted Moisturizer with SPF. With one swipe, you get hydrated skin, a sheer wash of color, and protection from the ultimate ager, the sun.
    2. Convertible color. Instead of juggling separate lipsticks, blush, and eye shadow, choose a single chubby stick or pot of color that prettifies all over.
    3. Brighten eyes. Use a bit of highlighter on the inner corners of your eyes and coat lashes with a glossy, lengthening mascara for a bright-eyed look. Also try using a white eye pencil on the inner rims of eyes.
    4. Conditioner as shaving cream. Coat the bottom half of your strands with conditioner, and while it's doing the work of penetrating your dry strands with moisture, use another squirt to shave your legs.
    5. Fix a self-tanner gaffe. Dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and run over streaky areas -- lemon juice is a natural exfoliator and skin lightener.
    6. Super fast dry hair. Blow dry your hair from underneath, rather than aiming the nozzle at the top strands first. Flip your head over or clip top layers up.
    7. 2-in-1. Use a combo cleanser and toner on your face, hydrating body washes in the shower (so you can skip lotion), exfoliating body washes, and a shampoo-conditioner combo.
    8. Basic hair with a boost. You only have time for a ponytail or bun. Dress it up with a headband, tease a little volume at the crown, add a blingy barrette, or wrap a piece of your own hair around the ponytail holder for some polish points.
    9. Make a blow-out last. Sleep with it in a high, loose ponytail and dust with dry shampoo when it starts to look a little greasy.
    10. Nice nails. When you step out of the shower, rub a bit of olive oil into the nail bed and cuticles to heal delicate, raggedy skin.
What do you do to save time and still get out the door looking gorge?

I've started washing my hair in the mornings so I can let it air-dry at least partway. Though sometimes for bangs you have to blow-dry them into shape =/
and amanda, make-up is not necessarily a mask, not unless you're a middle-schooler who doesn't know how to put it on or wear excessive amounts of it all the time. Spending time on beauty is perfectly natural in a world where almost everyone is first judged by physical appearance. It's not a good or bad thing, it's just a fact.

I am interested in trying that braiding idea. Either dry in a pony tail or damp after washing. Might just be the trick for a different look that reigns in wayward hair. Thanks for the tips girls! Maybe even tonight.

Mary Kay has tinted moisturizers in many colors. they also have a 3-in-one cleanser which, if Amanda was using on a daily basis she wouldn't have allergic reactions, AKA breakouts from clogged pores.

clean them pores girl, and use microdermabrasion once a week to fluff off dead skin cells.

Raw almonds make your nails grow, swear on it. big bag at costco $9
Kerastace has the the best hair products by far.

I am with HeatherB. I am not from the States so either the product is not available in my country or I am just very uninformed, but what is dry shampoo and how does it work?

As far as the dressing up of hair on the go...I found these amazing beautiful hairclips at a craft show, and not only are they so much nicer than claws and other clippies, they hold so great!! everyone asks me where I got them....the website is flexi8.com I think..it's printed on the clip but it's tiny

If I slept with my hair in a pony tail I would have a bump in the back of my hair all day! And thats not cute on any one. I have however braided my long hair in multiple braids before bed and when I take them out in the morning I have great body.

LOL amj! For all of those that have natrually unmanageable curls (like me :p) and dont have the time to or simply wont straighten their hair, wash your hair at night, braid it in two braids, sleep with them above your head (not tucked underneath), and leave them in until u get dressed in the morning. I noticed that this makes my hair a lot softer and manageable, not to mention less curly! :D

The way you look in life is not the most important thing in the world

Sommer, I used to have really really oily hair like that, but started washing it every other day instead and my scalp started producing less oil. I think my body was overcompensating for what shampoo was taking away. But you can only do what works for you. I think people forget that we're all different. My daughter is biracial and i only shampoo her hair once a week or so, conditioning more often, which makes for much easier styling (what i wouldn't give for her gorgeous curls!)... there isn't a right way for every person. Beauty is diversity. We should all embrace that.

As far as wearing makeup and whether or not it's superficial... only you know why you're wearing what you're wearing. I like to look natural and go out of the house with just sunscreen most days. But there's no shame in a little mascara now and then either. I envy my girlfriends who still get to spend time primping. It was always relaxing for me and I miss that.

It's a shame that natural, beautiful women believe that they have to paint their face, place plastic in their breasts and stand in platform shoes to be accepted. The logic is as old and as stupid as the “Geisha " girls of old who painted their face white, broke and bonded their feet, and wrapped their breasts. Women don't realize that they're killing their skin by depriving oxygen to it over a lifetime of foundation, coloring skin, hair and adding foreign materials to their insides. Just to be accepted by men or their peers. All in the name big companies making money.

Hey, Amanda, why don't you just shave your head and skip a step all together! You could also just put a bag over your head.
