      Love bonfires and beer, watching my grandkids enjoy the outdoors, all those simple things in life that mean so much to me can be found on a warm spring day or evening.

      Don't hate on Lanhome for seeing typos--I'm a writer and I saw them too. Twelve should be written out (don't get me started :-). Doesn't take away from the basic good vibe feeling of the page--nice to see some happy stuff written in this age of bummer mentality, too much bad news, too much "news" in general. So back to the basics--some flowers and an appreciation of the little things that make life great. Now I'm gonna go put on some pink lipstick and count my blessings.

      Hi Iamhome,
      Thanks for responding back. :) It's not wrong to bring things to light and of course you are entitled to speak your opinion. My reaction was based on how the image was pointed out....but good to know your intentions were not meant to be malicious. Honesty is always appreciated, but there's nothing lost in being respectful to a blogger - even if you are pointing out a mistake. Light sarcasm and playfulness can come across as arrogance when one can't hear your tone or read your facial expression. I know sometimes that's easy to forget when we make it so easy to comment.
      My apologies on getting your name wrong. Terrible of me!

      AAh, I love spring and summer. My "shake the winter blues" tricks are;
      1. Switch my closet from winter to spring and get rid of anything worn out/doesn't fit/not my style anymore. (and p.s. to those of you who donate your unwanted clothing to charity shops; if its stained or has holes in it, just toss it or salvage what you can for scrap fabric. You wouldn't want to wear anything with a hole, and neither does anyone else! )
      2. Start wearing spring fragrances; store heavy winter scents in a cool, dark place for next year.
      3. Nothing gets me in the mood for spring cleaning like some cheery music! Anything that reminds you of summertime will boost your spirit (The Beach Boys is my favorite)

      Happy Spring, Everyone!

      Wow lanhome,
      There's nothing like being so particular that you manage to bring all this spring cheeriness down with just one comment!
      Not to be thwarted, I loved reading lovesmarilynm's "shake the winter blues" tricks! To add my own, I like to plant Alstroemeria flowers that I can clip and bring indoors. I also love hanging clothes outside to dry so they have that fresh spring scent. Yay Spring!

      Sarah, spring is my favorite time of year. I moved to Minnesota from Texas, so I was unprepared for my first winter here. I will never forget meeting a group of women from Minnesota that were saying that now that spring was here they would have to start shaving their legs again. It is winter for 6 months here. You cant find hair clippers in town once the temps hit 50 and the ladies need to start knocking the fur off so they can wear shorts.

      Love the post and agree on EVERYTHING.
      Hugs to you and yours
      Emma Mae
      PS The sasquatch sighting just turned out to be Bertie locked outside in her babydoll nightie.

      I just bought an adorable beige trench this weekend and it's so nice to lighten up from my heavy dark winter coat. I have a "spring" in my step now, too (plus, out come the sandals--not for commuting, but while i'm at work)

      I love the outdoors but I hate cold weather. So you won't find me frolicking in any Winter Wonderland that's for sure! I love getting out and about, picnic at the park, camping and shopping at outdoor Markets! This year my husband and I are planting our first ever OPrganic Garden so I'm really excited! We're starting next week! We're making a conscious effort to become more Green while sticking to a budget and have started a website chronicling our efforts I'd love it if you'd stop by! fromnormaltogreen.com or fromnormaltogreen.com/blog
