Even though you will be sunbathing, sweating and getting wet, you still want to look your best at the beach. A little bit of makeup can help you look fabulous while you are sitting at the beach. But wearing the wrong makeup products to the beach can give you a less than flattering look. When you are at the beach, it is important to keep your makeup minimal so that it does not melt off your skin. Here are makeup products to avoid wearing to the beach.
Lipstick
I have always been a lipstick kind of girl; I would much rather wear it than lip gloss. But bringing lipstick to the beach is a huge mistake. I know, I've done it. If the temperatures are scorching, you will find your lipstick melted in your bag. It's not pretty! If you absolutely have to have something on your lips, bring a tinted lip balm.
Foundation
Wearing foundation to the beach is a big no-no. The hot sun will cause it to melt right off your face. Talk about uncomfortable. The sweat trapped between your foundation can also cause breakouts. There's really no reason to wear any kind of foundation to the beach.
Non-waterproof mascara
If you plan on swimming, you will definitely want to skip your regular mascara and opt for a waterproof one. Going in the water with non-waterproof mascara will cause it to run.
Eye shadow
I have been guilty of wearing eye shadow to the beach. But there's really no point to wearing it because the hot sun and water will just cause it to fade. If you absolutely have to wear eye shadow, just dab a beige or gold cream eye shadow on your eyelids.
Just keep your makeup as light and natural looking as possible and you will look great on the beach. There is no need to pile on tons of eye shadow, foundation and lipstick when it will just melt off anyway.
