Some may call it a signature look, some may call it a fashion rut, but having a uniform takes all the "what am I going to wear?" stress out of getting dressed in the morning. Marc Jacobs has a uniform. So does Vera Wang. Even Karl Lagerfeld has one. If fashion icons have uniforms, then moms can too!

Looking around at my most stylish friends, I've noticed some mom uniforms that inspire me. My friend Lela Lee, a cartoonist and mom of 2, always looks cute and casually hip in a black shirt, cargo pants (bought from the men's section!) and flats or flip flops.

Mom Uniform- black shirt and cargo pants.

Joie, mom of 2 and Pilates instructor, consistently rocks Lululemon pants and blousy, slightly hippie-ish tees over tanks.

Mom Uniform- comfy pants and loose top over a tank.

When not working, my mom uniform consists of a grey or blue t-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Hardly sends the pulse racing, but I am clothed and everything can be put in the washing machine. Mission accomplished. Any way you style it, I don't veer far from this formula because I know I can change it up with accessories, and that nothing is too precious to be sneezed on, spilled on or covered in any number of assorted motherly occupational hazards.

My uninspired mom uniform is why I'm so excited for Strut: The Fashionable Moms Show streaming live this Thursday, February 16th from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City! Watch the stream on their website or the Babycenter Facebook page to see some very savvy, stylish, social media moms just like you and I, take over the runway at Lincoln Center to model accessible, affordable fashion by brands we all know! Tune in this Thursday at 3pm EST, 2pm CT, or 12pm PST to watch, and follow Strut on twitter using #strutmoms to get inspiration for your mom uniform!

--Whatever is comfortable--usually t-shirt and jeans. Same way for the past 25 years.

T-shirt, Jeans, and a pair of sneakers. That's me usually. And if my hair isn't down, its either in a ponytail or a bandanna. I guess you could call me the lazy type of dresser since I am more into being comfy than walking around in a skirt and heels all day, but at least I am comfy and not in constant pain!

Living where I do, my mom uniform changes with the seasons. Jeans are simply too heavy to wear from April to December, so I tend to wear dresses and skirts during the warmer months, or tanks and shorts. In cooler months, I love my skinny jeans with a loose, flowing top layered over a longer-sleeved shirt.

Mom Uniform- tee, jeans, and sneakers. why is she smiling and he looks like he is ready to main/kill someone? I realize he is a small child but he looks like a small ninja. Actually I am just putting this out there... where do you draw the line? He does not understand that killing is a legitimate job out there somewhere...

Give it a rest..he is a kid! A little boy at that.. how do you know he is being violent..maybe he is in martial arts..there is nothing wrong with that at all it teaches discipline and structure.

Seriously? That is a child playing with his mom, outside, just like all kids should. He's not even smiling, that is a serious face. It must mean he's about to lash out and kill someone!

I see a lot of moms today in leggings that may or may not be unbenounced to them...see through with a good look at her thong.

Love seeing other moms' uniforms! My uniform is leggings galore & a few versatile scarves to switch it up! Looking forward to checking out Strut!

I wear whatever is in my closet that is clean and fits. Honestly I don't buy new clothing for myself. I prefer to spend money on my kids and don't think about myself.
